Not a bad spoons, quick service and a decent smoking area out back backing out onto the park. Dark inside without much natural light but this is apparent in most spoons. Didn't get chance to sample a real ale as was out all day so made use with a beer (Carling) and burger

A totally average 'spoons, beer always ok when I have visited, gets full and sometimes rowdy on a Friday and Saturday night as it the usual meeting place for the council estate 'hen' and 'stag' party crowd.Has my normal 'spoons bugbear, never enough staff serving. You get what you expect from this operator, although some are a lot better than this one.

Another extremely large Wetherspoons pub, that used to be a branch of Woolworth's

Large bar down one side, that as usual with a spoons was under staffed.

4 different ales on tap along with usual Ruddles and John Smiths.

A bit gloomy inside, busy as it were a Saturday and the beer I had was alright.

Another typical spoons I suppose.

Not too bad JDW pub with a decent enough selection of ales.

The first sentence of my review should have read 'one of the very few pubs open in Burton'.

One of the very pubs open in the centre of Burton for our Sunday afternoon visit, and like the town it was quite bereft of people. Still this meant we got served briskly and civilly to a very acceptable pint of Bateman's Pink Cadillac. Annoyingly though other beers we were interested in were "off" but the clips left facing the punter so as not to "spoil the corporate image". For a Lloyd's 'Spoon it seemed pretty run of the mill.

Usually the staff let Wetherspoons pubs down, but when I visited the Lord Burton they were really attentive and friendly. 7/10

Pretty much a bog-standard Wetherspoons this. Standard dark wooden tables and chairs, with bar down right hand side and some alcove (slightly raised) down the left hand side. Four or five quest ales, including a couple from both Marstons and Burton Bridge. I had the Burton Bridge Porter and something from Arkells both were quite nice. Didnt sample the food but you know the menu without me having to tell you. At least its open all day unlike the Burton Bridge Brewery Tap !!

And can someone at BITE please sort out the mess they have made of Burton on the site. There are pubs lised under "Burton on Trent", "Burton-on-Trent","Burton upon Trent" and "Burton-upon-Trent". Search for one, and you don't get any of the others ! Suggest you standardise the spelling ...

6/10 Spoons is Spoons

Was very unimpressed with what JDW had to offer here in what i had my mindset as a ale heaven, virtually every pump clip was turned, the place just looked like an ordinary boring spoons(not a lloyds) and was generally uninspiring, 5/10

Scruffy; loud music (i t's a "Lloyds No 1" despite the Wetherspoons decor); full of chavs. No thanks.

I agree with previous comments about Lord Burton being rather dark and claustrophobic, but I recently had a couple of very nice pints of Burton Bridge Festival Ale which were in tip-top condition. That said, I dont expect anything less than a beer in first class condition in a pub in Burton, especially in one less than a mile away from where it has been brewed.

I agree too with the comment about the pub being seemingly being popular with the locals, but it is possibly too popular and too well used because it appears to be well past its best before date and is in dire need of refurbishment.

I cant comment about the food, but Ive no complaints about the speed or quality of service.

Called in for breakfast before going to the Burton beer festival and was disappointed by the choice of beers available from the Wetherspoons own festival The beer chosen was OK but the breakfast was poor as most of the items were cold. Very dark inside, but the garden area looked brilliant.

Saturday night visit... typical wetherspoons.. A real mix of people all enjoying cheap beer. Has a non-smoking area at the back of the pub, good range of real ales. Would recommend for a few beers before moving on to somewhere with more character.

passable wetherspoons - very popular with the locals it seems - interesting guest ales, usual JDW gripe - as a non smoker without accompanying children i'm not catered for ! but i guess its difficult to please everyone, is a smoke free/child free drinking environment so much to ask ?

Vast, cavernous Wetherspoon's outlet. No soul but cheap beer in good condition.
