Has closed and reopened several times in the last few years and has now been closed for several months with signs in the windows advising of the company responsible for security. Hopefully will reopen again soon but there's no sign of this happening.

Quite a nice place mid-week in the early evening. A good pint of Landlord and although there was piped music in the background, it didn't offend. would happily go back.

Dark, dingy and mainly deserted, no real ale despite being advertised on the outside. Only redeeming feature was the entertaining barmaid

Honestly, who cares about 'real ale'?
The place has got a good atmosphere, good craic, friendly staff and an okay range of beers. Never seems to be any trouble and is packed out on Friday/Saturday nights. Good place.

Nice food and friendly staff. TV unfortunately but friendly atmosphere. Don't go in the evening tho when it reinvents itself as a *bar* with DJ's and v loud music.

Yes, have to agree with the previous posters. No real ale even though the sign says 'Cask Conditioned Ales'. Seemed to only have national beers and lagers on. Didn't stop for a drink. There are far better pubs in Kendal.
