Mauldons Blackberry Porter @ 1.95 per pint was surprisingly a refreshing good pint - friendly staff and clean interior.

Not too bad in the day. Food is ok but the bar can sometimes be understaffed; especially weekends. Beers and lagers quite cheap, but not of the best quality; well can be terrible at times. Toilet facilities are awful. Gents toilets often stink to high heaven and regularly closed off, so you have to use the disabled toilets; bearing in mind that it is 1 at a time. Still, all that aside, it's an OK'ish pub. Great to start off in before going clubbing.

Had a good breakfast here to start my crawl of the Gornals and enjoyed the beer I tried too. Typical spoons - not enough staff and slow service.

Nice lokking 'Spoons, remind me of the Stafford/Ponxders End cinema conversions. Highgate seasonal wasn't great, friendly staff

A typical Wetherspoons pub, very busy with a mixed selection of drinkers and eaters. The hand pulled HIGHGATE MILD 1.75 a pint was as good as anywhere. Will visit again to sample guest MILDS, 11th to 21st May 2006. Foods pretty good too.

cheap drink attracts the kind of people u would imagine, not a family place, food in daytime is good and reasonable, confrontational feeling at night time
