I'm struggling to think of anything positive to say about this place, but I've only been in of an evening so maybe it's ok during the day! If you like your beer bland and your music terrible (bog standard 'club' music) then this is the place for you. It seems to be busy every weekend so it obviously appeals to enough people although i'm guessing that a lot of them are the pre-Casino crowd.

very nice modern place, bit small though.

Has to be the worst pub i have ever been in. cheap frozen food, common customers barely 18. All in all hideous.

Anonymous bar selling keg lager. Big windows. Has a bit of the old Rochester city wall inside. Working hard on promoting pub grub meal deals. Inoffensive.

Now looks more like a hair dressers than a pub with bright flashing lights on white ceramic tiled walls and white floor (i think id find a new interior designer) may have a new bizarre look but customers still the same weekend rabble as before in my view one to give a miss

This pub has changed over the past year, after a major refurb by the new manager it has really gone upmarket but they still offer great value for money.
A year ago I would have brushed straight past this pub but I ventured in and found that it had a new very crisp decor. Behind the bar the staff were very friendly and helpful, I ordered 2 of thier burgers and 2 pints of fosters and found that the price was very average for the location. The food was brought out to us quickly and was superb.
Overall I found the venue extremly welcoming and cannot wait to return again some day.

A real Chav hotspot at the weekends, who warm up for the Casino Rooms by plying themselves in the City Wall. During the weekdays is usually desserted.

I visited this pub on a Friday night and found it to be most uncomfortable the customers were rude, loud and made the place feel very unwelcoming the patio area was full of young lads shouting and swearing and a small fight broke out between them and had to broken up by the doorman. the quality of the beer was good but no real ale on offer but that was no surprise! would not be in any hurry to visit again on a weekend but could not comment on how it is in the week

Just had a lunchtime pint in there on a hot day, and the best thing about it is that you can sit outside(!).

Staff were ok, the interior is frankly hideous, choice of drinks is fine if you want mass produced nonsense or alcho-pops...but other than that not a lot going for it really.

Good place to sit outside and people watch...but other than that not a lot to say sadly.

I visited this pub accidently back last December, enticed in with my girlfriend by the pushers deployed in the street to employ the hard sell on passers by. I think the offer was a free shot with every drink, which seemed worth a quick detour. Id heard bad things about this place but I have to say I did enjoy my time here. Although it was dark and somewhat crowded, the Christmas lighting did give the place a nice feel and it was a refreshing change from my normal venues. The music was loud and a mixed bag, but a couple of tracks from the Killers, played back on sizable plasma screen, perked me right up.

Although the atmosphere was not menacing at all, I cant say I could ever feel totally at ease here, perhaps it is the number of times this area has been featured on Street Wars or perhaps its just not my scene. That said I have no further complaints, its not a bar Id choose to spend much time in but for what it is - an economical way to get yourself semi-sozzled before heading on to more appealing establishments - it works. Perhaps I visited on a good night or perhaps the place has an undeserved reputation for trouble, but either way I do not see myself becoming a regular but for the occasional quick detour. A questionable 6.

Agreed, this place is for people waiting to go to the Casino rooms. I hate the new style of the place, with their idiotic lights and purple walls. It used to have a friendly pub atmosphere now it looks like psychadelic puke. Also, recently I found on a Friday night they had hired some girl to stand outside, and look pretty and ask if you want cheap double shots. Not a great idea to get me in!

This isnt really a wine bar at all, but more of a place for a pre-Aaron Stones piss-up (awful night club situated opposite). I was here in the City Wall Wine Bar with my girlfriend last night (2nd March) and actually found it to be okay. Indeed, the purple colour scheme is rather garish and the place is pretty tatty too, but the crowd were seemingly friendly enough and the music was easy on the ears. There is a definite lack of seating however, but we managed to grab a couple anyway. I can imagine it being dead in here during the week, but as stated above, a visit here is usually only for one reason. If thats your bag, then here is recommended.

Large pub in a handy spot for a night out in Rochester or if going onto Casino Rooms.

Good atmosphere if you are into a younger crowd, not if you want a quiet drink.

Not very good, but probably the least shit place on Rochester High Street. Try going out in Maidstone or London instead!

Not a bad pub, doesn't really cater for us beer drinkers.

Garish purple colour scheme can give you a headache. Or is that the beer? :o)
