Used to be an excellent pub where people would meet and actually talk!! It was especially popular with the Guardian staff across the road (now gone). Now it's populated by people whose idea of a good time is to sit in front of a range of giant TV screens and be shouted at.
Won't be going back.

On our visit to London we popped in last saturday afternoon. Sports TV orientated. For a Fullers pub surprisingly no London Pride! Did have Bengal Lancer in fine fettle. Staff welcoming.

This pub has been unofficially adopted by MCFC, now has 6 screens. Great ambience, fantastic food. Bar staff are great

Good for the football and the Guinness is top notch.

Not a bad stopoff for a late beer after the 11pms have closed on a friday. Loud music - lots of lights (I believe the chap in the centre of it is called a D.J.)....Anyway a couple of pints later and I had flashing lights in my brain all the way back to the hotel.

I�m a big fan of Fullers pubs as I like their beers, but this place isn�t one of their best and I have to point out that the barmaid on duty was truly miserable when I visited before Christmas.
I spotted four plasma screens showing the news which were muted and there was no music playing as the pub felt like it was closing even though it was only 10pm.
Four Fullers ales were available and there was nothing wrong with my pint, but I wouldn�t return.

Nice, bright, clean and welcoming, well running Fuller's watering hole. Always a treat and good place for a quite drink, watch of the sport in an ever improving area.

The thing I like about this place is that although it's a bit of a dingy hole, there are usually a good number of attractive men here. As it's quite near where I work, that means I can pop in during my lunch break and pretend to have my eye on the cricket when what I'm really doing is catching sly glimpses of my fellow drinker's groins to think about later on my own.
The only drawback is that with "Pride" in the name, it sounds a little bit too much like the kind of bar I would frequent if I came out of the closet.

Not one of Fuller's better houses. It's a small pub just off Clerkenwell Road consisting of one room divided into two parts. The most notable feature is the dreadfully slow service: for a small and usually quiet pub I rarely manage to get served within two or three minutes. It always seems understaffed, or at least staffed with inefficient bar staff. Pride, Discovery and ESB were on on my last visit. I totally agree with other reviewers who have remarked on the characterless feel the place has.

Agree with rpadam on the blandness of the place. It used to be a decent place with a bit of character. Decent enough pint though.

Not bad on a visit on Tuesday night!
Had a FANTASTIC pint of Fullers London Porter, which is currently doing the rounds from the cask as a guest ale. Pride and ESB were also available.
Overall, I agree with others that this lacks a bit of the normal Fuller's atmosphere, but for a pub in this area, not bad!

Disappointed with the amount of froth served on top of my 'pint' of Discovery - as if I wouldn't a) notice, and b) ask for a top up. Anyway, the beer was fine but the place had a rather anonymous/antiseptic feel. Not one of Fuller's finest.

Tried ESB and Discovery and were both OK. Young people in and out, drinking lager. F1 was on the big flat screens.

Refurb turned a reasonably comfortable boozer into a bland sports bar for the local young meedjah types. ESB still good.

Very Trendy, Now gets a few more women in which is nice :)
3 Widescreens around the pub with 3 lcds behind the bar sky sports is normally shown all day but the sound is only up for major games & events, then its just trendy background music
Function room now open with full working bar heard its going to be a big steak house, will have to try this!
Pricing is similar, some prices have risen but some have fallen....FOOD is MUCH BETTER
Overall Refurb is good now its nice and clean including the loos!

The recent refurb hasn't done it any favours. Now just another trendy Farringdon sports bar

The City Pride has just been re-furbished (March 07)and is now a trendy 'Sport Bar' with TV screens all over the place. As a result it now gets quite crowded but is quite pleasant and I suspect the drinks prices that increased as a result? The picture of the outside is now out of date.

Virtually empty on a weekday lunchtime. ESB was ok, but not very welcoming at all.

found the atmosphere not very welcoming at all, lots of regulars acting like they own the place - but to be fair, they are welcome to it. Dull silent square interior and unsmiling staff in a dead part of street between nowhere and nowhere.

Informal put-your-feet-up kind of place. Take their beer seriously enough. I like. looking forward to going back in the summer when they open it out.

Variable opening times and "private parties" in the main pub (when a large function room is available) make this a nightmare to know whether you'll get a pint or not. Only London Pride on tap on last visit. Better Fullers pubs with their full range within a stones throw.
Avoid!

No atmosphere to speak of, though I have only been a couple of times. Service seemed ok. Good beers. There are better pubs in the area, though if you crave a pint of ESB then this is a good option.

A down to earth, no thrills, no nonsense, Fullers pub just off Clerkenwell Green. The main bar is quite bare with wooden floor and geared more to stand up drinking with just a few small tables. The walls are plain with the occasional picture, mirror, plate etc but nothing over the top. A large plasma TV perched above the door appears to be too big for where it is situated and awkwardly overhangs part of the window behind. One interesting feature is that the front of the pub is entirely full length doors so in the hot summer months (or should that be 2 days a year) the entire bar can be opened up straight onto the pavement, continental style. There is a separate room in an extended area in what was, I presume, originally the premises next door. This is a bit more geared to seating. Reasonably priced and well kept Fullers beers. The pub is friendly enough and fine for what it is but not special enough to go out of the way for.

Superb. Best place around for a weary journo on a late news shift. Great staff, lunchtime food is lovely and reasonably cheap. Gets quiet in the evening because of its location. If you're really picky like me, you could say that the London Pride is served a tiny bit too cold. But if that's its only fault then its doing a bloody good job otherwise.
