I thought everyone must be posting about a different Priory, but no. Clearly there are lots of people who think overpriced gassy lager and supermarket wine are the cornerstone of a good pub. There tends to be one actual beer on tap - they vary it from time to time - but it's often undrinkable as they seemingly have no idea how to look after it. Given the number of great pubs in the area I'm amazed this place can keep going - I guess the lowest common denominator works for them.

Thankfully we were lucky enough to have worked near the Priory in the past, it therefore was the obvious choice for us to hire for the Saturday (4th July) evening to hold our wedding reception. From the moment we met Oliver (yes the sideburns are impressive!) we were pretty confident everything would run smoothly, and it turns out our confidence was proven correct.
He let us have free rein in the pub moving tables, putting up decorations and taking control of the stereo. The pub also divided up great for a dance floor, bar and outside area for the guests.
We requested food for 20 odd people and we were not disappointed with the results, the chef put together an amazing menu for a very reasonable price and no one left the table without making the best effort to clear their plates or sober!
The pub is a great venue, the bar staff manager and kitchen team are absolute stars and I would not hesitate in booking this venue for another "important" event or just simply heading down there for a beer and some food.

I have just had my 30th birthday at The Priory and it couldnt have gone better. Everyone remarked on how sperb the venue was- they catered for my every need from, food, drinks to DJ equipment. There is outdoor space too which made it very special. I partied with my closest friends and the bar staff were brilliant. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a party venue which is off the beaten track but still in central London. The only problem was that it had to end!

Marvellous bar, stumbled across this one night coming home from my aerobics class my partner Josh and I ended up staying till closing time. Cocktails were to die for, especially the Keenanbourg Classic and the French Martinis. Had to jog to work the next day to work it all off. Highly recommend checking in and zoning out. RW x

As a local businessman I regularly attend service at The Priory, indeed quite a lot of my business is conducted at the bar over a cold glass of Kronenbourg. I generally find the staff polite and friendly the type one can have some gay repartee with. Space is nice and airy and probably would suit most ages and tastes, and the food is rather good too. Also great for al fresco wining and dining in the Square watching the talent go by. Must see for any fans of Wolverine as the Manager Oliver has a cracking set of sideburns. Anyway must dash, have appointment to check in at The Priory.

The Priory has been a local establishment for my staff and I for over 2 years. Its first appeal is the staff. Always attentive and very friendly. Floor service is a bonus. The average price of a draft lager is very reasonable and there is enough to choose from. The food is great and is prepared fresh on a daily basis.
The vibe is relaxed and good fun with ample opportunity to know staff and other friendly customers. The fact that it is tucked away is a real bonus.

I just celebrated my 30th birthday and The Priory proved to be the perfect place to hold the celebrations! When I arrived I was greeted by the manager, I didn't get his name but I think he is American, who offered me a glass of Champange and proceeded to introduce me to the two staff member who had graciously gave up their Saturday evening and volunteered to help him out...The bar itself was decked out in glitter, balloons, and lights and had just the perfect vibe going. We had pre-ordered food and to say it was fantastic would be an understatement. The party went off without a hitch, and all my friends commented on how well organiszed everything was. I will definetly be back to The Priory as they treated me like a queen and what girl wouldn't want that... Highly recommeded....

Utter nonsense. Clerkenwell has some of the best bars and pubs in London.

Great place to get lunch, or an even better place to get drinks in the evening! I have no idea what the ...fool... below means by "out of keeping with the area"? and "the locals prey for it to close down".... Sounds like a disgruntled member of staff to me. Anyone who knows Clerkenwell will know that the area has very few decent bars and if any of the existing ones took a leaf out of The Priory's book then it'd be fantastic and not a moment too soon! I work in an advertising agency local to The Priory, and we like to think that we are discerning customers. Added to this the fact that we don't live in Fulham, (Well, one of us does!) and we love The Priory... Long live The Priory and all who sail in her!

This place is a great find, set back away from the busy hustle of the city with a chilled out atmosphere and friendly staff. It was perfect to relax after a long day at the office with a wonderful meal at a very reasonable price. There was a good range of wines with most of them sold by the glass and my partner had no complaints about the beer.

Awful place out of keeping with the area. People who live and work here with any taste avoid it and pray for it to close down. Clerkenwell is famous for great bars - but this place should be in Fulham. Nuff said.

I have just discovered this place - what a find! The food and staff are spot on. And they don't make a big fuss about anything. Good place to spend some quality time. I'll be going back many times, I'm sure!

Shame everyone else is going to know about it soon!
Go there for lunchtime specials at �6, bargain!
