No longer a Wetherspoons, but still a pub - Granny Annie's.

Typical Spoons outlet with typical incompetent Spoons staff. I was asked my favourite question "Who's next?" on both visits to the bar. However, there is a pleasant outdoor drinking area and the two pints of Schiehallion were good and a refreshing respite from the black stuff.

The best of 3 Wetherspoons we tried in Northern Ireland yesterday and our last pub of the day. 5 real ales were on - Marstons Old Empire, Cotswold Spring Codrington Codger, Cairngorm Trade Winds & Greene King Abbot. Westons Marcle Hill & Traditional Scrumpy were the ciders. I tried the Mont St Michel Cidre which was very nice. The pub is long and narrow, featuring drinking areas on different levels. The clientele was a mixed bunch. From bouncers for a nearby bar drinking Budweiser to youngsters dressed up to the nines and to old folk discussing the day's affairs, all walks of life appeared to be present. Service was fairly swift.

When travelling through Fermanagh from/to the republic, this Wetherspoons feels like an oasis of decent and cheap beer. Taken in the context of Wetherpoons in general, this is not an especially good one and is pretty standard overall, but certainly worth the stop for refereshment.

Bit if a problem yesterday (17 October 2007) when a delivery lorry hit a car and the demolished part of the building.

A more laid back JDW, and thats not a recommendation. Shared a table with a lonely old dear knocking back pints & brandies. She was friendly, knowing I was a stranger she took delight in telling me about everything in Fermanagh. I think she wanted we to get a round in, I finished my drink & made my exit. The rest of the regulars seem to consist of lowlife locals who pride themselves on looking intimidating to visitors.

A wasteland for all the degenerates of Enniskillen.

Great to find this place in an area that is a relative wasteland for Real Ale. Courage Directors is always on and they have 3 or so guest's regularly changing. On my vist (while on holiday in August 05)they had Caledonian Brewery's "Tatoo" on, which was absolutely fabulous. The food is inexpensive (cheap and cheerful).
