After a swift stop at the Hopping Hare, in the Dallington area of the town, we moved back to the centre for a party at the Charles Bradlaugh. There is a large downstairs area and an equally large outdoor courtyard, some of which is covered. We were in the first floor function room. Two ales were on and both were available on either floor. Greene King IPA & Gun Dog American Red were both on. A disappointing ale selection. But, we had a good evening, nonetheless.

Great pub, great music, great atmosphere but expensive drinks.

Nice pub, big and friendly. Bar staff do a sterling job on a busy night.
The menu has declined in variety which is a shame, and the Manageress is a miserable cow. I've been there during other Manager nights and the atmosphere is noticably different when she is there.
Alcohol can be overpriced and the Punters have declined in quality, lately i've seen a lot of Chav's and general wasters walking around. It's a shame, two years ago when the manager James was there it was a happier place.

fantasic pub this, the assistant manager is a nutter, and the bar staff are all pretty easy going. wicked place to be thurs till sat nights as it's seen as a pre club bar for the lounge, and the soundhaus, although you'll probably get sucked in and stay all night. recently got a new tapas menu and a later license til 2 on fr and sat. they provide a free drink for birthday boys and girls too, always a bonus. not cheap, but this keeps the idiots out... a great place for students and old fogeys alike...

The Bradlaugh is a great place to go, especially Saturday nights. If you can't be arsed with the Cheesey crap club nights in town, then you can stay here till 2.00.

I would rather bounce about in a busy pub than in an empty one. lots of people to meet and good music with DJ's that know exactly what they are doing.

Friendly and funky. Pointless? Bollocks to that!

I love the mixed crowd that you find here! Despite the size of this pub, it seems you can nearly always find somewhere to tuck yourself out of the way if you so choose as there's loads of nooks & crannies and different levels.
The pub garden isn't overly large but is fab to take in some sun and have a nice meal (the Chef's specials are mouth-wateringly good).
Big car park which is almost unheard of in Northampton town centre but a word of warning...if you leave your car overnight make sure you've moved it before lunchtime the following day. I think the Licensees have probs with p*ss-takers who are too tight to pay for in-town parking so have to employ clamping services.

This pub is neither classy nor friendly. You also seem to either have to know the bar staff or have a trendy mullet hair cut to get a drink. The only redeeming feature is the late licence.

Good pub - friendly atmosphere, good staff, nice decor, plenty of space. Does get busy on weekends, but not unpleasantly so.

this is the place to go if you like to be in a pub till 1am rather then a club. it is a lovely big place on two floors but gets horriblly packed at the weekend!they tend to play funky music all night but for some reason never have the jukebox on in the day! have some fit bar staff too!

a pointless venue that is poor in food, expensive with beer and is packed to excess at weekends for profit. Decor is pseudo oldy worldy and fails to carry it off. If you are a power drinker that likes to try to chat up shallow women that drink breezers then this is a must. If you dont pull then go out the pub, turn right, walk 100 yards, turn left then you will be in the red light district. Nuff said
