Seems to be only open on odd nights when they have an outside promoter in

Shut down now. Very sad. Did nice cheese.

Used to be OK. Then got very, very poor. Now shut down.

Last time I tried to go they wouldn't let me in because I was wearing trainers (and not the herbert variety). Funny that, because I thought I was in London and not in Basingstoke. Says it all really; not been back.

if you want to pull a slapper at the end of a night out this could be the place, full of local slappers and herberts. beers too expensive

This used to be pretty good 5 or 6 years ago when it was basically a club and held regular garage, house and DnB nights - even if the atmosphere was a bit heavy. Unfortunately now it is just a cheesy bar playing eighties music and the like (presumably 'ironically'). There are much better places to go after 11pm than Redstar.

If there was ever a place suffering from a split personality, this is it. I just don't know what it's trying to be. Is it a night club in the throes of becoming a social club? Or some wedding reception gone hideously wrong? My mates seem to be amused by it, though. How long this novelty lasts I don't know. Tip for the owners: make the drinks a bit cheaper.

This is not a good place. I've been twice now, the first time there was some sort of desperate 80's night on downstairs and a sullen Garage thing upstairs, the second time they turned off all the draught beer at 10pm and switched to bottles only, at a very competitive 3.75 a shot! Cheers guys! So to sum up, dreadful doormen, rancid barstaff, a rip off and it stinks. Why not treat yourself and go to the Funky Munky, The Castle, that Red Cube place or just about anywhere else in Camberwell instead.

Fantastic for the weekends. Amosphere, wide of ranges, and overall anything goes.
