Optimal location at the Royal Square. Crowded by German tourists when I was there, but I managed to get a seat. A couple cask ales (Liberation), decent food. Reasonably fast service.

Old school boozer (they still sell cigs from behind the bar) ale was drinkable

Decent pub selling "Liberation ale" and the usual selection of lagers and ciders, nive to sit outside and watch the world go by, good bar staff, as with most St Helier pubs closes at 2300hrs.

Sitting next to The Cock and Bottle this is another nice little pub to enjoy a beer and watch the world go by. Liberation Ale was fine but didn't try the Bass. Food available and al-in-all a good little pub. The photo is out-of-date as the pub has been re-painted and usually has the canopies down over the outside seating.

The Peirson was our second pub of the day in Jersey yesterday, following the St Helier Yacht Club. Only 2 ales were on in the Peirson, as opposed to 3 plus a cider at the Yacht Club. Bass & Liberation Ale were on. But the Peirson does enjoy a nice location on a square that has a very continental feel. The small interior is also quite cosy. For a better selection of ales, we continued on to the Forum, another 7-8 minutes walk up the road.

Tourist pub, does good food. 2 real ales on Bass and Liberation, £3.20.
Popular location and busy at lunchtime with quick and friendly service.

Small friendly and clean pub with small al fresco area. Tried a drop of the local Liberation Ale, nice but not perfectly kept. Busy for food, looked appetising but didn't try it.

Very attractive pub in the centre, locala only at opening but with good use of the courtyard tables by mid-afternoon. Friendly little pub but the Liberation, as I found a lot, is either a dull beer or routinely badly kept. Should have had the Bass.

I was pleased to see that this ppub gained entry into the 2012 Good Beer Guide as I have always liked it and a had a decent pint of Liberation Ale (it had just run out but the landlady soon put on a fresh barrel) Good price and a nice atmosphere. Pubs in St.Helier open at 11 on a Sunday so that was a bonus as I was ready for a beer (at 11.40) after a brisk walk around town to get a newspaper. Small seating area and a good mix of locals and "tourists".

Bass and Liberation on hand-pump. Tried the local pint and sat outside in the sun. Would go again.

Still a good pub with a very pleasant interior and outside seating in Royal Square (next to The Cock and Bottle). Beer was fine - I had the Liberation Ale (again). I think the kids rule is a general law throughout the island unless the pub has a "children's licence" (most of the large "eating houses" allow kids in).

Popped in with family on a wet Friday lunchtime, lovely pint of Liberation Ale, decent meal and friendly staff, great. Passing same pub that evening fancied a quick pint on route to restaurant only to be told could not even sit outside pub after 7pm as we had our 12 year old with us. Tried another pub with the same result, strange island law?

Next to The Cock and Bottle with an outside seating area in Royal Square. I had a decent pint of Liberation Ale and there was Bass on draught also. Not a bad pub at all.

Okay pub, with some outdoor seating available and two cask ales.

Shabby.

On the square next to the Cock and Bottle, but didn't make the most of its location. Generally a tacky, off-putting feel to the place. Keg only. If you want a drink on the square, go next door.

One of many Town Pubs in St Helier. Nothing Extra Special to make you want to go back for more.

Average Jersey pub. One or two ales. Looking a bit worse for wear and very strict on ID!
