Welcomed the reopening and was impressed with the idea of live Irish music, which wasn't too bad. Problem is the food is still the naff fall back of Findus Thai specials and the landlady is something else from the back end of Dublin estate; moody miserable scowler. The place lacks a sound system to support the bands, which means the whole pub has to stop to hear any acts on, which would be OK if the quality was A1, but its not OK just to celebrate sentimentality.

Very pleasant late night bar with good range of beers and wines and decent looking menu. Great to come here on the way home when the 11pm closing Camberwell pubs have shut

Good Irish bar with nice cheese.

Food did look good, if expensive, on a recent visit. Nice and trendy bar

The food here is pretty good - and a passable selection of lagers (ie: not just stella and fosters!). The seating is really uncomfortable - particularly when eating. Seats way above table level - a killer on the back. Not somewhere you'd spend a night - ok for brunch, early evening food then bail. As pointed out elsewhere, ventiallation is dodgy - roll on smoke free pubs.

I went here a few weeks ago for a birthday, and I was impressed. The place has smartened up since my previous visit, and although the drinks were a little bit pricey, where isn't in London these days? Service was efficient in the sense that there was little waiting at the bar, but the atmosphere was disappointing. It scores a little above average, purely because I think the place could have far more liveliness, and a few ales on tap wouldn't go amiss.

Went on saturday for lunch. The place reeked of smoke so we left. It wasnt that anyone was smoking but they need to sort out the ventillation. I smoke by the way but I dont want to eat in an ashtray

The decor and lighting is attractive. Good to see Leffe on draught. The bar staff aren't exactly overfriendly - the odd please and thank you wouldn't go amiss. Also, the DJ was OK, but played the same tune about 5 times which was slightly irritating and a bit lazy if you ask me. Apart from that, it's quite good.

This place could be good but it needs to decide whether it's a restaurant or a bar. The food looks fantastic but no-one wants to eat there because :

A) The tables are not suitable for eating a full meal and they are too close together, more geared towards drinking than eating.

B) They are charging restaurant prices but the ambience doesn't warrant those prices. If I'm paying 40 - 50 for a meal for two I'd rather eat it in an actual restaurant than a gastro pub.

They have a good drinks selection and the decor is interesting. The bar staff need to be a bit more 'with it' but once it's found it's feet I think it will be popular - if they sort out the food situation.

ok beer selection, good quality food. Only complaint is the seating - it's really uncomfortable. Overall a welcome addition to Camberwell.

Interesting space and decor. Staff helpful and food very good. A welcome addition to SE5 food and drink scene. Recommended.

Recently opened bar. Sumptuous decor (especially for Camberwell). A bit more upmarket than most of the local alternatives. Includes Leffe and Staropramen on tap. Nice loos with large, as yet unsmashed, mirrors.
