A year and a half later, and the place has improved. It's had the lick of paint, and the third ale is back on. Friendly helpful staff and good food have put this place to the forefront of pubs in the immediate area of Ashford.

This winters extra cold weather has seen the addition of two log fire places bring extra atmosphere.
Contrary to the previous review Masterbrew is still available and top quality.
The food was home cooked and the ribs were the biggest as wells as tasted great.

It's gone downhill since the last reviewer visited - the Masterbrew has gone. It's an odd pub the old boys at one end, the youth club at the other. The place looks shoddy - it needs a lick of paint.
It's (quite frankly) a poor pub, but its saving grace is that it is in an area well equipped with worse pubs.

Laid back traditional roadside village pub. Large rear car park. Rambling interior with several sections snaking round a central bar.
3 casks - Summer Lightning, Pride and Masterbrew.
Bar billiards in its own little room off the main bar.
The place offers standard pub meals - sausage and mash, prawn cocktail, etc - at standard prices.
There is some character here, but not much. It's a decent pub without being exceptional in any area. The music is slightly too loud for comfort, and the sound quality is very poor.
An average place that perhaps deserves an extra point for having three casks and a bar billiards table.

Great food pub with a large dining area. No jukebox, pool or darts but they do have regular quiz and poker nights. Friendly pub with attentive staff, good watering hole.

A lovely village pub which is clearly thriving; looked a bit dead from the outside but was surprisingly vibrant within. Ales included Hop Back summer Lightning, which was in perfect condition. All it needs is a pavement between the pub and Ashford Town FC, which is a rather perilous walk along a busy narrow road with speeding traffic.

A real country style pub. Good food and beer!
