A very tired pub, varnish on the tables worn off and toilets need a good cleaning. Food was good but miserly portions. Would not use again.

Since they have changed the menu again I don't think the food is as good.

Ah yes, the Treacle Pit. Full of chavs, scum bags and low lifes. Sticky tables and carpets, dirty glasses, toilets stank!!! Shame cos used to be a good pub, good food etc.

CLICKY. Went in with my husband and left after one drink. If you want to know where people get the idea of a sterotypical essex person the visit this pub. White stilettos, too much gel and a wide boy attitude are all here in abundance

was in here a bit over the xmas period and busy wasnt the word , xmas day you couldnt move in here same as the sandmartin but its xmas day so fair dos , was in here last weekend and it was manic but did get a fair drop of beer and was quickly served by a friendly bar maid , got to say was a good time and i enjoyed myself my friends enjoyed themselves
not a bad pub really food was ok beer was good the staff were excellent

chavy , a proper poser pub , just look at the car park , the beer isnt too bad but the quality of the customers let it down

ok...used to be lovely but gone down hill a bit. Landlord is rude and the barmaids have alot of attitude. Failing that never had a bad meal in there - food is good if you are lucky to get a table!

Lovely pub, good atmosphere! Was a bit wary as it's a chain but nicely layed out, three real ales on a hand pump and very reasonably price well prepared (i.e the medium steak was medium!) food.

Its a big pub , as it seems like a lot are down here, and has a pretty good selection of beers and a couple of different lagers Food is available and is reasonably priced. There seems to be a good local clientele who appear to enjoy themselves(especially on a sunday lunchtime!)..Its lively and friendly and gets my vote!
