Called in for a pint upon a friend's recommendation. However it's not really a drinking pub and seems to rely on cheapish food with a fast turnover of tables. The car park always seem pretty full whenever you go past .

It's had a faux-rustic TImothy Taylor's makeover which has been done well but hasn't really left the pub with a traditional lived-in feel at all. My pint of Timothy Taylor's bitter was good and well-served but I've never eaten there so can't comment on the food.

Utter rubbish. The food has become worse and worse in the five or six years we have been going there. We have had to sit on tables outside the kitchen whilst sizzling food was brought past.
Then there was the time that we were asked to move away from our booked table after an hour, so that we could make way for the next lot of customers.
Chicken Caesar salads with cheap, shop bought chicken and limp lettuce.
The list goes on......

We went last Saturday afternoon for a quick drink. I had a pint of Timothy Taylor Best Bitter which was fine. The pub was reasonably busy although we found a table easily. Bar service was good. Menu looked excellent (partridge, venison) but we weren't stopping. The pub looked cosy and welcoming to all and we would go again if in the area.

This used to be a great pub for good beer, great food and excellent service, tho something seems to have changed.

The food and service have been poor on the last three occasions we have visited. I don't know whether there has been a change in management or something, but it is certainly not what it once was.

The service and food are almost always good. Hence my great disappointment to be served a frankly iffy Sunday lunch, and an ignored letter of polite complaint. AND the beer is always top of the price range.
