'Just crawled the town after an absence of many years'. This pub was always a bit rough around the edges but ok for all that - why an english pub ruins itself with a scottish theme is beyond me - you can go to scotland if you want that. If you like ale this place is a waste of time - not much else to recommend it sadly.

I have to say, I understand that there are forgeries of Scottish bank notes however a UK! " holiday destination " should be prepared dor Scottish people visiting directly from Scotland.

I am from Edinburgh and thi "hole" is an insult to the Athens of the North. Firstly ordered two glasses of red wine and was told only had enough red wine in the pub for one. Then ordered s Guinness. Went to Pay with a Scottish note and they refusedbut wouldn't say why.
Asked for landlord who happened to be propping up bar of Finn's (good bar). Who said bank said don't take em. Ourhotel took em.
Also the wine was had certainly turned to vinegar.
Fact. Anyone playing The Scottish card take our money !

Very disappointed with this pub now. It used to be a great place. We took 5 friends in there and all the real ales were off (the lady behind the bar said that they had Courage Best real ale - but that turned out to be on keg!!).

Went in there Saturday night for the first time and was impressed by the vocal talent of the singer who seemed to know every rock 'n roll song ever written in the 60's. Pleasant few pints of Courage at a reasonable price and everybody joined in the songs...average age of the guys in there had to be about 50+ and all well behaved. Will definitely go there again but I can understand this would not be a youngsters pub.

great pub just re-opend after modernisation.
dennis and sue are there to welcome you, still has a free vinyl juke box, and live music every friday, saturday, and sunday nights with a very friendly crowd.

Great pub, well updated(perhaps a bit too posh but it might grow on me) at least theres a lock on the gents toilet & a light too!! good cheddar valley & taunton trad cider, vinyl jukebox now on all day Rock on!

Just opened again. don't know what it was like before but must have been better. yuck.

Haven't been to a pub like this for a long time. needs a facelift and some change in the live music but a good atmosphere and a rocking landlord.

Very small pub but has a good atmosphere, gets very packed at weekends when there's always some music on.

It's quite small, and the person who put the stickers in the window can't spell "cosy", but it is actually cosy. It's a nice place to go for a drink, and sometimes to watch an elvis impersonator! I like it..

Good old fashioned spit 'n' sawdust boozer for those who like to "Rock 'n' Roll". Features (free) live singers Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday lunchtimes (mainly 50's and 60's stuff, usually pretty good but occasionally pretty awful) and a (free) real old vinyl jukebox the rest of the time. The pub's biggest assets 'though are the landlord and landlady Den & Sue. "Rock on!"
