In here last Saturday and quite nice for a hotel bar.
There is a fair crowd in early afternoon and piped music is playing.
They have 6 hand pulls but only 3 in use from Greene King.
IPA, Abbott and Old Speckled Hen.
I had a pint of the Hen which was very nice and cost £3.40.

Don't bother with this place if you have children. This place is a souless interior within a beautiful exterior and the main bar, despite being almost empty, was only for adults. We were directed to 'the other bar' which was dark and had tables barely big enough for one person to eat off let alone a family. The other approved area was essentially an entrance hall with a giant tv showing masterchef (perhaps the chefs needed tips). Definitely would never go there again

Came here on St Patricks day eve & on the Saturday afternoon 2 days later - historic pub with the usual 'ye olde bric-a-brac' on the ceilings & walls. Ales were from the Marston's portfolio of Wychwood Paddy's Stout (good pint), Ringwood Old Thumper & Pedigree, as well as a couple of others I think. Worth seeking out for the history & the beers.

The carvery gives good sized portions and the meat is good quality, but otherwise predictable content. The Bell and its carvery is the only place worth eating in Winslow on a Sunday or Monday evening (don't bother with Rosie's Bar for food).
If you are staying at the Bell the breakfast can be very slow. Last week I had to wait 15 minutes before anyone appeared and took my order. But when it did arrive the food was better than you're average hotel breakfast (better than Premier Inns offerings).

Not worth especially seeking out, being a very average Greene King pub. Service a bit mixed (one very friendly and courteous, another a bit curt). Food mixed too, one meal very nice, another (mixed grill) using very cheap cuts and with a glorified slice of bacon passing for gammon. Not good enough for the price.

We had to leave the hotel early as the incredibly loud music and rowdiness from an adjacent pub meant we simply could not stay and it was still ongoing when we left at 1:30 am to seek alternative accommodation in Aylesbury.
Such a pity as it's a lovely building and a lovely town during the day.

Seem to remember this pub had a really excellent public bar, but couldn't find it on my last visit so assume it has gone the way of so many other excellent bars. The Bell is really just a so-so place for a pint when you are in the area and not the sort of establishment to make a detour for.

I always feel this place could be so much more; it's the main pub in the town but seems to be resting on its laurels. It's a Greene King pub so has Abbots on tap which is always in good condition. Trouble is, there's nothing else worth drinking; there's usually a guest beer too, but nothing to right home about. The food is a bit samey and the locals all seem happy with the inevitable baguette and chips. Winslow needs a really good pub with good beer and good food; the Bell could be the place but it needs to get a bit more revved up.

Good food, good beer. The speciality sausage and mash was very filling. A bit crowded last Sunday as they were hosting a Christening party.

The best cheap food, friendly staff, comfy chairs and Postman Pat puppets!
