please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Could easily have been a cottage that has been converted into a pub; it blends so well with the neighbouring houses. Small, two-roomed pub that has been smartly decorated in a modern style. Hooky and Hooky Gold were today's two handpulls and I tried the former which was very good (I can't remember ever having had a bad pint of this beer). Menu is one of traditional pub food. The current licensees moved down from Falkirk 8 weeks ago for their first ever pub venture - hope they do well but presumably they will need customers making an effort to travel to Epwell rather than just those who live in this tiny parish.

I was pleased to have a pint or two the other day at "The Chandlers". They have done a lot work inside, it took me some time to work out my way around.

I had a warm welcome no one I remember from the past. If I lived ion the village I would enjoy a drink or two and maybe even more.

A lot of food on the go.

Former Hook Norton village local, sold in 2013 and reopened as a free house in early 2014 following a renovation. Current licensees previously ran the Horse and Groom at Oddington and then the Chequers at Churchill.

The Chandlers Arms completed our hat-trick of North Oxfordshire village pubs that had closed, following attempts to enter the Bishop Blaize Inn at Burdrop and the Stag's Head at Swalcliffe. Again, no sign of any life at this one. Seems to be closed for good.

I ws glad tobe in the area last week, so called in for a beer or two.

I was pleased to see the pub still offers a welcome.

I used to live in Swalcliffe and used to enjoy a drink at the Chandlers.

It's a tardus pub, with a very large garden. The beer is Hook Norton always at it's best.

It's diffcult pub to find but if you make the effort you will go back a second time i'am sure.

It's a Hooky pub so that says it all! Pay it a visit!

Superb rural and rustic pub with plenty of character. It is a typical Hook Norton pub with Bitter and Old generally on and sometimes a seasonal. Step back to a more relaxed time and while away a few hours in gentle conversation and calm.
It does show the Egg Chasing Internationals though.
Gardens not up to much, but the place to be is inside.
