I stayed here recently for one night with the family whilst travelling through.
We had a fantastic meal, I can certainly recommend the 28 day aged steak - fantastic.
The family room we had was adaquate, albeit a bit dated, but for �50 very reasonable.
The pub is on it's own with the nearest pubs being 1.5 miles away, not close enough to walk for me! However, very frienly staff so a few beers in the bar after our meal was very nice.

had an evening there recently, my pork escalope was only just cooked, which is fine but the side veg had obviously been hanging about for hours, mush to say the least.
as the youngest person as a customer in the bar, (Im 45) even I didn't appreciate the drum and bass influence of the choice of music, not likely to be going back very soon which is a shame as I have enjoyed meals here in the past

Lunch at the Duke of Cumberland's Head at Clifton near Banbury. Excellent chicken Dijonnaise, we'll be back. A half of Hook Norton bitter tasted excellent to me after 200 miles non-stop in the June rain. Staff friendly yet professional. Thought the No Riff-Raff sign was a good idea. Immaculate wash room always a good sign.

There was a warm welcome in the grey and unremitting rain, July 9th, from the landlord and his staff. The soup - celeriac - was excellent, and a good serving of bread and butter. The Hook Norton Bitter, and Archers Red Admiral (apparently an Irish style red ale) were both in good condition.

I stayed here in late Feb, early March 2008.
The food and beer was very good, and the room comfortable- better than average TV, comfortable bed, decent shower. The staff were all helpful- we asked to move room after noise from a rattly fan kept us awake, and they sorted it out easily, and promised to attend to the fan.
The "No Riff-Raff" sign? That came up in conversation: It's a joke, but if you need me to tell you.... The owner may well be removing it.

My partner, daughter and myself certainly aren't old and we had a great inexpensive lunch served by a very eloquent Englishman despite the fact that even on a good day I could easily be mistaken for riff-raff.
Roaring log fire and a beautiful Xmas tree in one of the most atmospheric pubs I've ever been to. Loved it.

Beer indifferent. The food is expensive but doesn't need a lot of chewing so just right for the 'older' clientele that use it at lunchtime. Staff have a problem understanding the language and beware, the sign outside says "No Rif-Raf"!!!
