Excellent village local, friendly welcome and great beer, the Batemans we sampled was particularly tasty!

Visited this pub in February 2009 [Wednesday, their Curry night] food was excellent and the welcome friendly. We will certainly go back, I want to sample the carvery Sunday lunch. Prices are reasonable too.

A real village pub which is difficult to get to, but worth it. I visited it for the first time on a motorbike and was made to feel really welcome. Dating back to 1168 and reputedly visited by Oliver Cromwell and his officers after the battle of Edgehill for food, drink and lodgings. A cracking building with good ale and food. The landlord Ron has a tale to tell and the regulars I met were a great bunch of people.
