A real gem: a multi-roomed pub full of character. The ale is kept in superb condition. I tried the 'Stairway to Heaven' (5% abv) which was tip-top. Welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Simple pub food such as cobs and pies available at very reasonable prices. A 'must visit' when in Burton. 10/10.

An absolute visit on visiting Burton. We came here first in the early 1980s just after the brewery opened. Lots of little bars and parlours. Food. Blackboard menu for the wide variety of beers.

I still go to town every week or so just to visit this place, my favourite pub in the whole area. Beer top class especially Golden Delicious and Soveriegn Gold. Heard from the local paper that they are taking on brewing DBA (Draught Burton Ale)after C*******g dropped it due to falling demand! (mainly due to its non-availabilty in any of their houses, being only intrested in l***r). Cracking pub, ace food, friendly staff.

Still best pub in Burton. Shame the plum porter was not on. All ales on were in good nick.

Still top of the league for ale in Burton. A pint of Bridge Bitter here is probably the epitome of what a decent pint of bitter should be.

By far the best pub I visited on my recent crawl of Burton.
Cracking selection of the breweries beer's on draught and all 4 I had were excellent.
Scampi, chips and salad was had off the lunch menu and it was very good.
After visiting a couple of other establishments in town this one was worth the wait.
Recommended for a visit if you haven't been already

Didnt get to this one on a recent Burton crawl, but squeezed in a quick one while on a ride yesterday. Turned out they had a beer (& sausage!) festival on, great stuff but we didnt have time to stay and do it justice. Great pub, great beer, on a par with the best in Burton.

Burton Bridge's brewery tap and, as you would expect, their full range of ales availbale on top form. I stuck with the Bridge Bitter as I've developed a liking for it and it was another top pint of it. Pub refrubed again to the old style. It's nice to have pubs with rooms and sections in as opposed to one big drinking barn.

Closes at 2:30pm during the week. Brewery round the back. Gas fire pretending to be a real one... don't like these! 7/10

I would have liked to review this pub, but unfortunately it was closed at 2.35pm on a Thrusday.
It's a bit out of the otwn centre, but you would have thought that the Brewery Tap of a nationally renowned brewery would be open all day ?

Visited here yesterday on the way up to the football, about a mile walk up to the ground. On of a number of good pubs with great beer that we visited in Burton. The beer here was excellent, between us we tried the entire Burton Bridge Brewery range. The food, black pudding sausages and mash, was very nice and great value. The welcome couldn't have been nicer, they dealt with an influx of thirsty and hungry Boro fans no problem at all. Just to put the tin hat on it they sell great pork pies - so no queueing at half time for me.
Great pub, nice folks.

Can't fault this place. Traditional pub selling Burton Bridge beers of excellent quality. Great food menu, most meals were under �5. Friendly staff. 10/10.

Stumbled on a beer festival here yesterday. Friendly 2 roomed pub with nice barstaff and decently kept beers. The sausage in a roll at �1 a pop was pretty good too - decently made - no sawdust, but was probably just for the festival. Wished we had more time to stay longer but had to dash for the train. The lady behind the bar was very helpful and rang us a local taxi after we failed to get one booked.

We can clarify the previous comment re: Lea29. The Bridge now has a new landlord and the atmosphere is much friendlier. The beer is always tip-top and pork pies are always available. We recommend the ploughmans lunch too.

Not too sure about the comments made about the welcome below...we visited on a Sunday lunchtime, apparently just minutes after the local 10K run had finished, and the place was heaving with people of every age down to children of about seven years old. They had laid out what we took to be free Sunday lunchtime nibbles - at least, no-one told us we could't help ourselves...so we did! The beer was excellent and the location is superb, right next to the Trent bridge. Having just moved into the area to work, this is one of a number pf pubs I look forward to re-visiting again in the very near future. Hoping to get to see something of the brewery itself next time...

The beer in this pub is very nice, but it was let doen by the cold reception we recieved upon visiting this pub a coulpe of weeks ago. The gentleman serving was unfriendly and obviously did not appreciate younger people in his pub. It so unwelcoming that in the end we drank our pint outside and then moved on. I woud not return to this pub again, put am sure that if you are of a more mature age the experience here would be very different. Dissapointing as we were out to taste some fine ales.

An absolute gem of an old fashioned boozer.Brilliant beer(I like the weaker Golden Delicious)just 2 rooms downstairs,open fire,cheap prices,friendly staff.I just wish it was open later at night at the weekend,but being a bit quaint and behind the times,is part of its image.

A wonderfully traditional Midlands pub of multiple room, chip butties, no music, tv or nonsense, and 6 cask ales brewed on the premises. Fireplaces, wall benches with assorted loose cushions, flock wallpaper and half wall wood paneling, and dogs! Great atmosphere.
Beer is served a little warm for modern taste.

Enjoyed a selection of Burton Bridge ales while visiting the town, and also the excellent reasonably priced food. One to visit when in the town. Lovely rooms with a homely feel to them.

This is an excellent two room boozer on the old bridge that crosses the river Trent. The staff are friendly as are the locals. It is also the premises for the Burton Bridge brewery where a couple of former brewers from Bass,I believe, continue their trade as a small independent The bar is smallish and gets busy at times, the lounge is larger, more comfortable and non-smoking. The pub also has a skittle alley. The beer is first class. There are a number of different brews but the Burton Bridge bitter is a regular and has a rounded, slighty hoppy flavour. Others include the weaker but equally tasty, Golden Delicious or, if you want something stronger the Porter, brewed to an old recipe is a quality beer.The pub also serves a selection of home made fruit wines. A must if you are visiting the area and like a pint.

Excellent proper pub. Smoking and non-smoking areas. Beer brewed at the back of the pub building. And What Beer!!! If you want a nice quiet quality pint and are in the area this is the place to head for.
