Went here for lunch, which was very busy even though we didn't get there until 2 o'clock. The menu was surprisingly fancy as it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Punters were of all ages and types. They had several beers from the Three Tuns brewery, not too far away. The mild was good. The stout was excellent. The hummus wrap was not bad. Good selection of games in the room to the right of the bar. If it had been warmer, we might have sat out by the stream.

Just returned from Shropshire - not enough time to visit enough pubs but able to report that this pub has been taken over by Three Tuns Brewery and is OPEN again.

If anything like the Bishops Castle pub must be a good thing.

This was to be my third Shropshire pub last Saturday. However, after driving slowly over the Long Mynd in thick fog from the Yew Tree at All Stretton (not listed on here), we found this pub is now closed. A fairly recent sign reads 'closed until further notice'.

Well Summer, came and went, but managed too get there with drinking partner in tow.Lovely welcome greeting from Jess the barmaid, still chirpy and efficient.Closely followed by Owners Bob/Maureen,who remembered me,and wondered why i hadn,t been for sometime, but now living 150 miles away realised,why...My mate had his Farmers sausage egg and chips, and took on the Farmers sausage and Mash both excellent reposts. There,s just something about a proper Porker(sausage).Well done i managed to quoff a couple of Woods "Big Nev" real ale still just as good. The accomodation as now taken off, which makes this placve ideal, for the walking fraternity. But not forgetting the DINERS/ALERS .Good all round pub,if you havn,t been ,your missing out,and don,t forgot the nighttime entertainment.1st class all the way here, but don,t take my word for it,,,,Go and see/try for yourselves....

Great little country pub, had lunch here at the weekend, 16 of us all taken care of and all with great complements for the food. Well Priced food and very tasty the Ploughmans was a Favourite.
On a nice summers day the beer garden would be fantastic.
