A small busy pub, three ales Hobgoblin, Hobgoblin Gold and Banks Bitter. I tried the Gold and a good pint it was, the landlady told me that the Gold was a rotation beer and that the other two the mainstay. This was the 4th pub I visited on my stay in Richmond that was under new management since my last visit to the town.

Well well well - as posted below new management in and a cracking job they are making of it to! Always at least 3 ales on from the Marstons stable ( a bit of a change) and Thatchers Gold on tap rather than tastless Strongbow nonsense. All in all above average little boozer thats well worth a visit.

Only a small pub in Richmond town centre, under new management i belive. A young couple in there which seem to be doing well, had a nice choice of 3 real ales on! none of them theakstons which seems to be the norm round these areas.Nice pint of hobgoblin, It wasnt on when i was in but there was a little open fire, dart board and smoking area out back. It wasnt great but it had some nice plants (hanging baskets.ect) and lights in there making it alot more nicer. Good pub, Shame it didnt do food!! if up in Richmond again i'll be back in

This pub was completely refurbed and under new management in June 2011. It is now one of the best pubs in Richmond and takes a pride in the quality of the beers, offering four cask ales at all times.
After two attempts by the new licensee to ask for the old out of date comments to be removed nothing seems to be done br The Beer In the Evening web team.

Due to the terrible beer, unedible food and rude staff this pub - as of 2 weeks ago is closed. Will wait and see whether it goes the same way as the Richmond Hotel and remains so for years remaining a blight on Richmond's market place. The Brewery (same one owns both - Marstons I believe) should be embarrased.

Oh dear - undrinkable real ale - even the keg guiness is terrible - not eaten there but last time i was in 2 groups of 4 were harrassing the barman for a full refund. Nuff said.
