Popped in for a couple before going to the Spice Lounge to eat. They had Abbot Reserve, IPA Reserve, Robin's Nest and a couple of boxes of cider available. By 8:30pm the place was packed but strangely only one person serving at the bar. Most people appeared to be there to eat.

Calling in while cycling in the area and was pleased to find Westons OldRosie real cider on offer.

This pub cater for all modes of travel - as well as the car park it has a cycle rack and - unique in my experience - a horse park, complete with hitching rail, water trough and salt lick.

Has hand a few change of management with varying success and beer quality. Keep popping in to see if it improves. Latest visit most unsuccessful to date as new owner greeted us with a welcome as we entered, there was no one at the bar waiting (or serving), a choice of two beers. One an interesting looking American ale. After 5 mins owner passed us asking are we waiting- yes. Went off, then back to the bar to chat to a hidden bar person. Gave it a few more minutes. Still no service so went next door to refurbished Yorkshire Rose.

It seems that it's been a long time since this pub has been commented on. So I will.
I've only recently moved into the Warfield area of Bracknell having lived in another village for the last 26 years so I was a bit worried about finding a comfortable 'local' pub.

I did hear that this pub had, in the past, a bad reputation and not always a good place to go. Not to be put off (I will always give a pub at least two goes!) I walked to the pub and found a very friendly, warm pub. The couple who are managing it are both friendly and welcoming as are the local 'worthies'. They keep an excellent pint and the food is wonderful. Their sausage board alone is worth a visit - 6 types of sausage, 5 types of mash & 3 types of gravy to chose from!

If you are passing this place or, if you live locally and not been there for a while, I would definitely recommend it.

Much improved. New owners seem to have created a new calm atmosphere. The ale is really good. Would be pleasant for a family outing.

Been back again and still found this a decent place. New landlord just taken over and very personable. Widescreen TV on the wall, yet fairly unobstrusive still. Liked the fact landlord wouldn't allow the volume to be turned up. Do a good Sunday roast by all accounts and restauranty bit at back looks very nice

Went here for a darts match. Nice enough place I thought. Clientele ok, real fire and a dog. Landlady seems to know how to run the place and Arthur the barman bit of a character, although a little hard to understand sometimes. Food put on for the darts team was very good. Giving it 10/10, not because it deserves 10, but because it deserves far more than it's current rating of 3.3

Pleased to say that things have changed recently. The licensee is now managing the pub having got shot of most of the staff. A new chef, too, who is very good. On a recent visit the beer was excellent (Morlands Original and Speckled Hen) and the food excellent too. They are now also doing a 5 menu, which looks nice. Friendly welcome and nice atmosphere. The pub do a lot with local groups and charities, and its now well worth a visit. Much improved.

Quite possibly the worst pub I have ever been to since i was 18 years old (now 48!!). Service in particular is so bad and obviously stems from the manager who is a bully and does not understand the art of customer service.

This pub should be avoided and the brewery should be seriously checking out its viability. They will get a bad name from this pub alone!

Nasty bitter as previous poster said. Horrible place.

Bar manager hard to get on with.
Small comment about the food and he nearly threw me out.
Heard comments that he has chased away several good chefs, and is now covering up by cooking himself.
Bitter is not that good.
Stick to the largers and you will be OK
Not for the faint hearted, the swearing in there is like being in a football club, or a building site.

Got a booking from the manager to play music at this pub with my band and planned to bring along some friends and sample the food and drink before the gig. Got a last minute cancellation from the manager with no reason and suffered a barage of abuse from the owner. So never got a chance to comment on the pub overall but if the current management is anything to go by stay clear. If you need to complain about beer or food you may not get the customer service or answer you would expect. !
