Traditional but not dated pub which served a great pint of JW Lees Founder's on Thursday together with homemade pie, chips and mushy peas (which everyone seemed to be eating).

Average pint of Lees Dark. Staff were attentive and the food (Sunday roast) was good though. Has a beer garden.

Great atmosphere always made welcome and the food is excellent the staff are very friendly and can not do enough for you.

A far cry from the sorry sad Church Inn down the road.

Got up there on a Tuesday lunch time at the end of March. It was quite busy and the new landlord friendly. Lees bitter and food quite good. Will certainly be going there again.

This was one of our favourite pubs until it closed for refurbishment a few months ago. Gas anyone tried it since it reopened?
