Think this pub is up for sale. No real ale. Only lagers and smoothy bitters. No food either but neat pub with sport and a small beer garden. Not for me but see why people might go here rather than Southern Cross and Nascot Arms

Seemed to have another new manager who'd just arrived a couple of days ago. No real ale, just John Smiths and the usual collection of lagers. Low on stock for mixers as well. Hope this isn't the end, but I'll have to visit in a few weeks to see if there has been an improvement. I remember the days when they used to have Fullers ESB on and it's a shame to see another good pub seemingly in uncertain times.

This pub is now under new management. It is a lovey pub with a very warm welcome. The food is delicious and very reasonable. It has a lovely garden to enjoy the sun and smoking booths for those lepers amongst us (me being one of them) Sunday lunch is well worth a try and they also have live bands playing approx once a month.

They do B&B at a decent rate here (though I don't know what the rooms are like) and it's very handy for Watford Junction station.
It does seem a bit dark and dingy and to be fair the beer is rank

I paid a couple of rare visits to the Bedford Arms over the Christmas period and found it almost empty on both occasions. In fact it seems to be one of Watford�s forgotten pubs as it is usually just as quiet when I go in and I can never work out why. It could have something to do with the prices, �2.80 for an Old Speckled Hen was a bit steep and more akin to central London prices. The exterior doesn�t look particularly welcoming but once you get inside it�s quite nice. The walls are adorned with signed sporting photos including one of the famous Vinny Jones �tackle� on Paul Gascoigne. There are three large plasma screens that can show different channels and most big sporting fixtures are shown. The pub seems to be Irish run, can�t say much about the clientele there are never many of them around. Only one of the three hand pumps were working on both my visits but I may well try again soon and see what the overall quality of the beer is like, if it�s any good I might go a bit more regularly.
