As we had no luck in getting fed in the Kings Arms in Otterton, decided to try here.
Limited menu, but friendly enough. Otter ale and Jail on. Had the later, which was fine

A decent place indeed.
My pint of St. Austell Trelawney ale was very good indeed.
We ate here having the beef curry and chips for £7.95 and it was gorgeous filling us up for most of the day.
The place had a good atmoshere and the decor had a pleasant modern feel to it.
This is a good pub to eat at with fines ales too.

9/10

Agree with other comments - not much atmosphere but open later than the other few pubs here so worth a look in. Didn't try the food but there appeared a good selection.

Called in a few times when visiting the outlaws.

Three real ales on view - Shepherd Neame's Spitfire, Otter and Dartmoor Bitter. The last one was always in good nick during our visits. There was also a real cider available but we did not sample.

Fair sized pub but with a small bar area. More seating upstairs. Comfortable but not much character.

Modest menu that I could see but nothing sampled as we could return to the ranch for food.

A small terraced pub with yellow render and olive green paintwork.

The interior is given over completely to the modern look. Open plan with an upper floor, the walls are salmon and covered with the arty pictures and modern mirrors. Whilst the bar is wood, and some traditional trappings, like books and other memorabilia are dotted around, they feel fake next to the now familiar sofas. I did see a dart board i am sure, but you would have to move the dining tables and chairs to use it. Stone floor. Service was ok and it certainly seemed popular with the large clientele.

Beer; tap stuuf, with Otter Ale, Wyre Piddle Piddle Artist and Dartmoor Bitter, which i had and was fine.

I wouldnt come back as its modern, clearly others love it. Not sure if it is a pub, restaurant, or both.

Seems to have been in a state of flux for several years. Could be to do with changing owners. Remodeled several times and I still have no idea what the final plan is.

Friendly tho. and a decent pint. Once had an upstairs dining area, could do with this back in mu opionion.

A clean and tidy updated pub off the centre of the town. The beer is excellent and when I have been in there are usually two local beers and another like Spitfire. The food looks good and is reasonably priced. The decor is slate floor with settees, tables stools and an upstairs dining room which I see people using. Lovely atmosphere with locals and newspapers provided. If you,ve been for a walk with the dog he,s welcome as well. Great place to relax.
