Spent a nice afternoon there watching the canal boats drift past. Inside it feels like a hotel lounge, completely characterless, but very friendly staff and good beer, Ringwoods and Hobgoblin both kept well. Food a bit pricey but isn't every pub? very friendly female staff, the one man on couldn't raise a smile to savce his life. Nice time there though, I'll be back.

We have been a couple of imes, both with 3 kids!! and for lunch. We have found the staff very friendly and the place gorgeous. It is set on the canal side and very relaxing and the food, fantastic.
We were very impressed with the kids menu, instead of being chips and fishfingers, the choice was things like salmon in a white sauce and vegetables, and home made burgers.
The lunch menu was lovely too, and always very friendly!!
We feel we have found a gorgeous secluded place to enjoy food, well done!!!

We decided to pop over to The Hourglass for a spot of mid-week lunch. Food was great but the motionless, non-interested member of staff behind the bar spoiled our visit. For the price we paid for lunch, a smile or warm welcome should have come with it, clearly not the case here...we weren't the only one's who thought this, we overheard 3 tables saying the same. Perhaps the guy behind the bar should rethink his job choice if he doesn't like dealing with the public. Overall, food was great, shame about the service.

After having a bad meal at this pub a year ago I returned this evening with 4 guests after hearing that the kitchen was under new management by a new 21 year old head chef. We were all so impressed with our meals, cooked to perfection and priced amazingly for what we had eaten. The beer as always was of a great quality and the service was as good as it has been from day one. Recomend to all. Brilliant canal side family pub. Worth a visit.

Just spent �50.40 on 3 home made burgers and a few pints of Beer. The burgers cost �12.90 each and were quite easily the worst that I have ever eaten. The waitress was very good; the Beer "Ringwood Best" was fine - but the food was a complete and total rip off - worst value Pub Food. I live locally but will not be going there for food again. The beer is generally good.
