A pub with a great musical heritage, well located and possessing some impressive New Orleans-style balustrades so a good stopping off point near to the docks - but it's a little soulless in its decoration and a pint of Bath Ales Gem wasn't as tiptop as one would expect of that fine brew.

Smallish pub, wide range of food and drink. Probably better known for the music scene, gigs upstairs.

I ran this place briefly in the 1970s, when it was the Bathurst Tavern (relief management) during the powerboat racing in the docks.
Great fun, but mostly lager-drinkers then. I'm glad it wasn't my own pub, but it WAS an experience.

Largish pub just off the centre, but very quiet on a recent Monday night. It's probably the bands that pulls the punter's in, it doesn't have a massive amount of atmosphere as a pub.
The landlord didn't seem terribly happy to be there (fair enough perhaps as it was so quiet) and there was only one beer on tap (London Pride). Ciders on tap were Thatcher's Gold, Gaymer's Original & Gaymer's Pear. All drinks served in plastic glasses which is rather naff.

I travelled from Bath to go to a gig here. It had sold out (I should have checked first!) but I stayed for a couple of pints because it's a pleasant place. Went to another gig here a few months later (that hadn't sold out!). Stage area upstairs is ideal for intimate gigs!

Nice pint of London Pride, 7/10

A great gig venue with a nice atmosphere (when busy, which is irregular unless a gig is on). Best to go on a Friday or Saturday evening.

Now has a token handpull (Pride) in decent nick. Shows that real ale is on the comeback.

A great pre-Thekla meet-up venue, back in the day after moving on up from the Watershed. Many happy memories...

Went here to see Dogs and 10,000 Things play in November, and am going back in February for a gig and of course a drink. The pub downstairs is great for a drink before the gig and the gig space upstairs is great! A great venue for the intimate gigs, I would recommend this pub to anyone!!

the louisiana, to me has to be one of the most lively, friendly pubs i've ever been in...the beer is great (guiness near perfection) they're also one of the few pubs in the centre of Bristol to serve draught beers..and to top it all, it's the best music venue i've ever been to in the uk. i can say i've seen the likes of Coldplay, and the stereophinics play there with a 100 fellow punters...great memorable nights....definately worth checking out...
