please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

We've found this OK on some occasions: quite lively, youngish crowd, OK beers.

The staff can get a bit pushy near closing time, and sometimes herd the clientele about for closing off sections when they're quiet, which is. Not. On.

Agree with previous 2 comments and I have revised by rating. Had an argument with one of the pillocks working behind the bar too.

Wiltz is dead right. There's a big list of real ales pasted up in the window but only three or four on the pumps and one of those was off. Not what it was - more a caff that sells beer now.

This used to be a good pub with good ales and good service but has really gone downhill.
I've stopped going in now as it is mucky, grubby, tatty and really short staffed. The beer selection is good or would be if they were 'on' but it's nearly always "oh sorry, that one's off".
Oh, and the white wine used to be chilled properly. Have the chillers packed in cos it always comes out luke warm.
The bogs are still good though when they're not leaking.

Solid Wetherspoons. Usually a good selection of 5-6 ales including local guests. Always in excellent condition. The tucker is hit and miss but the drinking patio is very good when the sun is out.

A fairly pleasant, purpose-built Wetherspoon's. Generic, as you would expect, but a good location and lighter and airier than most of the chain.

Now called The Benjamin Huntsman. This pub is the usual Wetherspoon's outlet. A decent pub with decent food and decent range of drinks but nothing outstanding. Feels a bit like a barn inside as it has a gallery area that makes it feel like a barn.

Good place, but shame about the lack of music

Good place for atmosphere and price any time of day or night. Food not bad either, but expect to wait a while if its busy.

I love this pub, its fantastic, I've had loads of great nights out started off there drinking bottles of orange reef - soo cheap. Ideal location for heading off to Kingdom (voted best club in the country allegedly)
