Goose on the square is now DECEASED!

It as now been reborn as the BANK! it as had a brilliant refurbishment to encourage a more relaxed atmosphere gone are the sticky carpets and the drunks, the pub is now a more food and relaxed conversation orientated establishment with very adequate seating.

the bar staff are very friendly and always willing to help, the price of drinks have gone up slightly but our still very competitive!

the only downside is that it no longer as sky sports!, however they still show sport but only what is available on terrestial tv.

Pretty Standard from the Goose chain. Reasonable food and prices. High probability of being accosted by some toothless simpleton.

A Very Sticky Carpeted number from the Goose Chain.Came here on a weekday lunctime and it was rammed full without a spare seat anywhere.A lot of scary looking characters but @ 1.65 a pint u will find that! 7/10

The Goose is without doubt a fantastic pub. Its usually jam packed full of old guys, some nights I have been in there and the average age has been about 50 plus. You may find this amusing if you go in there, but with the UK's population progressively ageing, every pub in the country will look like this. Seen from this perspective, The Goose is a vision of the future.

About 2 months ago I was sitting on the sofas near the door and I saw a decrepit old man in a wheelchair hammered off his face and spilling his pint everywhere. Undeterred by his age or his disability he still managed to two and fro from the bar, getting progressively more wreaked as the night went on. Thats the spirit that won us two world wars!.

Nice bar, always busy and a nice range of drinks, could compare it to wetherspoons. Felt abit out of place when i first ventured into this bar, probably because i was 16 at the time lol.

This pub is crammed by people standing about (??) but you can guarantee that you will find a free table if you want to sit down. The service is ok, given it's such a busy pub. The music played is low enough to have a decent conversation, but the lights are too bright for a truly relaxing atmosphere. All sorts of people come here and it has great value for money for the pricing of the drinks. Usually people come here to get drunk cheaply before hitting the clubs.

Went in here last Sat night (first time I'd stayed in Nottingham since 1974) I found the opposite of Medussa's experience.
Having waited in vain to be served in The Roebuck (Wetherspoons I believe) I fetched up here and got served straightaway - albeit by a woman rather than one of the "worst barmen in the world" - even though the place was very busy.

stay clear from here if you want to be served quickly and efficiently....probably the worst barmen in the world!!!

It's not a pub...it's a tacky rip-off of Wetherspoons, filled with the dregs of society who aren't normally let into the decent pubs.

ever been to a pub with men whose necks are fatter than their heads? you will if you go in to this sorry hole. Cheap drinks cheaper women and on the whole a deeply unpleaseant experience for anyone who lives in accomodation of greater standard than a dustbin.
