Obviously you never met jaff as he's asian so how can he be orange from fake tan? obiously you need to go specsavers mate either that or take your beer googles off! and yes jaff is the owner of this place, agree with G and Ray they do walk around "like" they own the place but funny enough they dont! oh well!

Had my 25th birthday bash at The Rose. Absolutely love the place. It has such a comfortable and clean feel to it, unlike most other pubs. It was a fantastic night and everyone enjoyed it. Music was great, bouncers friendly which is again unusual for a pub, brilliant service too.

I came back the next day to eat here! The food was not a let down either. Both the English Dinner i've had, along with the thai food...wow!! I cannot wait to go back!

Would definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for good food and a good time!

Rob healy!

there's more than a lick of paint mate!
perhaps go to specsavers next time, do you even know what it looked like before?
kids are allowed in most places till 6
London pride is a great Ale as well!

Nice advert by shazzyb(!)
Considering all the hype about a refurb, the place has just literally had a lick of paint. The toilets are still disgusting.
The 'lovely wide range of beers and ales' is really the usual stuff seen on every bar in Hounslow, and London Pride is the only real ale on sale - the only handpump.
Unfortunately on Wednesday the pub was more like a creche with kids running riot so we didn't stay, and probably won't be returning.

Pub has changed owners! thank god! the managers smile and are lovely people! make you feel at home

as soon as you walk in the door you feel at home... real cosy feeling and can have nice relaxing evenings in the pub which is beautifully decorated! it's night and bright inside as this pub have previously always been dull inside looks completely different and is the best it's ever looked!

lovely wide range of beers and Ale's including London Pride !

karaoke on thursday and disco's and bands over the weekend so is great for entertainment. Sunday is a nice jazz night very relaxing after a stressful week, lights are dimmed and candels are on! it;s great!

Function room downstairs adds great value to this pub. lovely private venue downstairs with private bar which i shall be booking for many parties to come! food is great Thai/English food everyday and served all day till closing! and Monday is a Indian Menu - mix grills are lovely!!

This place has now changed hands, had a refurb and has (I am reliably informed) a great Thai chef and jazz on sundays. Also, renamed THE ROSE. Review to follow

Shut down. Apparently, to become flats for the large Eastern European contingent in Warsaw, I mean Hounslow!

MUCH BUSIER THIS MONDAY! A REALLY GOOD NITE WITH LOTS OF SINGERS THIS WEEK INCLUDING SOME TASTY LADIES! WOULDNT MIND A "DUET" WITH THE LARGER THAN LIFE "FAITH" WHO NOT ONLY SANG GREAT BUT LOOKED GREAT TOO! SADLY THEY STILL HAVE WOODEN WINDOWS IN THE GENTS LOO! AT LEAST PAINT THE WOOD MR LARKIN!
anonymous - 26 Jul 2007 16:30
Was here on Mon night again! More people and singers here than last week but then that would not not have been hard! Good night this week and Harryoke on topform with lots of humour and a good sound too. also a few more of the female species this week and very welcome they were too!! See you there next week ps toilets cleaner too but you still need to "lose" the wooden window in the gents!

not a bad wee pub but mens toilet need a lot of work and a lot of cleaning! was there on 2 different karaoke nights both a bit quiet! The monday nite with Harryoke had a really good atmosphere although only 7 or 8 singers most of whom were good singers, Harryoke makes everyone welcome and sound their best, even me!! a competent host and singer who runs a good show. also a good night to try new songs without too big an audience!sort out the loos and I might become a regular!

Firstly Id like to make a comment on a previous comment made, David would make a fantastic manager, he is an asset to the pub, but is a shame his hard work and efforts are abused. As for his apparent off days Id just like to mention that if anyone worked a 9-5 hour 5 day a week job, then either a 7-7 shift, or a 9-3 shift every evening, plus another 40hours on the weekend, I think you will find his off days understandable and in fact, entitled in having the odd off day.
Secondly I would also like to mention the toilets, admittedly they are nasty, but it would help if the ladies used the sanitary bins and the men aimed correctly!!

It seems a real shame that Jo's Karaoke may not be playing at Larkin's for much longer - if that is the case.
A sense of fun and the ability to attract some good singers are just two things that any good karaoke show does well and Jo has always done that and more.

I hope that as things change (as they do) that Jo's contribution will continue to be valued rather than underrated.

I appreciate the comments that have been posted and only wish people would have made me aware of them sooner. I am in the process of getting the toilets refubished but untill that happens i will personally make sure that they are checked every hour, so that they are kept clean and there is toilet roll in all toilets. As for squaddies, I am a person to believe dont judge a book by its cover, however any mis-behaviour from them and i get them to leave. Magda is currently waiting to take exams so that she will be eligable for management of this pub. And yes we all agree that MANDY IS FANTASTIC. For my last comment, I do understand where people are coming from with the 5 charge but it is only after 10pm which i think is fairly reasonable considering we have bouncers on the door for yer protection, it is a late bar and there is also a nightclub downstairs thats open till 2am. I would appreciate it if there is any other concerns that you wish to report that you could bring them to my attention either through this web site or myself.

I went to this pub for the first time in years and was told to pay five pounds!! What the hell for all I wanted to do was have a quick drink with my girlfriend instead we ended up going elsewhere. I won't be returning if they continue to charge!

I'd enjoy this pub a lot more if it was a little bit cleaner.

Saying that, it is the best pub on the high street.

Chris The Guv'nor!

You got a real good boozer, but here's a few things that could make things busier.

* Stop charging on the door after 9pm, I know this is to meet the overheads of your door staff and the club downstairs - but not everyone who drinks here WANTS to go to the club downstairs. Instead, only charge after 11, or people who want to boogie on into the night.

* 5 nights of Karaoke is a bit much. We all love Mandy and Jo, even Harry has his moments of ingenuity, but 5 nights is far too much choice for the week. Seeing as Yates' is doing Karaoke on a Thursday, maybe you should cut your losses and drop that night (Sorry Jo, still luv ya x)

* Clean the flippin' toilets - the club bogs look fresh and sparkly, why not the upstairs. It makes me physically sick to use them, sometimes I'd rather go outside. I'd be ashamed to let my dog use them.

* Give Magda a promotion - she's working constantly working her socks off, and needs a day off. She'd be a fantastic bar manager for the following reasons - 1. She's always smiling and makes your drinking experience pleasurable. 2. She remembers the regular's usual tipple and you never have to ask twice. 3. She always makes the customers happy.
Dave is also a great barman, and would make a good manager, but he has been known to have his off days.

* Also, lay down the law with the squaddies. Whenever they come into the pub they try to take it over. It's scaring a lot of people off.

Aside from that, Larkins is definately worth a toddle to on those nights when you feel like minglin'.
CheekyShepherd - 2 Jun 2006 13:14
CLEAN THE TOILETS!!!! Downstairs looks ok so why cant they get a bottle of bleach and a cloth and do the upstairs? Karaoke is on several nights during the week, the best being on sundays with Mandy. Would recommend it as the only place in Hounslow worth visiting.
anonymous - 1 Jun 2006 15:50
Mandyoke! LOL! You do make me grin, Cheeky!

Yes, tis true, I shall be there on a trial basis from..ooo let me see...TONIGHT!!

Seeing as it's 4am, I suppose I should go and get some beauty sleep for it (I know I need it before anyone else jumps in *rasp*)
mandyb - 22 Jan 2006 03:56
It has been confirmed that Mandyoke will be doing Karaoke's on Sunday from 22nd January.

Hopefully this will take all the customers away from other High Street pubs (not naming any names)!

:D

I've been going here for years, was the only pub i went to for a while and guess what they've barred me. Just for association. If they don't like the look of you they will bar you so be warned.
rachelmcevoy - 7 Sep 2005 11:36
Filthiest toilets in Hounslow, don't think they've been cleaned since 1957, take some loo roll with you.

Yes, that's just the ladies...
anonymous - 29 Mar 2005 01:20
This pub is in it's 4th incarnation in as many years. Was once the wonderful 'Noble Half' and students used to drink there. Now attracts Hounslow's postmen on a Friday afternoon.
Good for: Postman"
