Efficient but friendly staff. The carvery meal is relatively cheap as today's prices go, but if you're looking for high class cooking, look elsewhere. Menu quite interesting and probably better value for money. Standards are about the equivalent of the chain carveries (eg Harvesters)

I'd go the Marquis for a cheap Sunday lunch when I didn't want parking hassle.

Nice staff.
We revisited this restaurant and the menu was more extensive, but went for the carvery meal.
All the food was overcooked and watching the meat being carved it just crumbled off the knife. Some of the vegetables were recycled.
Although the meal was cheap I would rather pay more for a decent meal.
Will not visit this place again !!!!

DONT GO!
Worst pub I have ever visited - food disgusting.
This was the first time I have walked out of a restuarant or pub, after taking the first taste of my main course.
Full of pensioners who have obviously lost their taste buds!

Flatters to deceive. Looks good on approach. Isn't.

Looks good from the outside and many many years ago probably served as a good place to park your horse and trap and have a good earned rest before riding up the hill into Esher village.

Now, on a main roundabout, lots of tarmac in the carpark, fairly featureless and unatmospheric interior. Just nothing really lights this place up. Restaurant is bigger than the drinking area. Family friendly cheap eat. Not a pub. Go up the road into Esher instead.

This is a nice relaxing pub and the food it great the atmosphere is very good and the staff are really friendly and helpful and not pushey. I Had my 21st birthday party here 2 years ago and the prices are cheep. It also cares about kids.

Get out, is this allowed to masquerade as a pub, bloody well shouldn't be.

From the outside this pub looks great! In my opinion that where you should stay .. out side! Inside is a disapointment!! Food is bad, service is Ok .. I wont be going back!

Devious Dave is right - it's a Carvery. It is very dull, it is not a Pub. Why is it on here?

used to be one of the best carveries around. Not anymore. Cheap and cheerful though and room for kids.
mahesh - 7 Feb 2004 18:39
It's a carvery - not much else.
