Busy Holden's pub, the menu looked good by my pint of Holden's Bitter wasn't that good, so ate elsewhere. Most of the drinkers were on lager which tells you something!

Reasonably priced food with homemade faggots available, Unfortunately Holdens Bitter was not on but Mild good and golden glow OK

Decent pint of Golden Glow last night but a strange mix of clientle from the old rockers listen to some dubious 60's 70's music to the scutty looking woman topping her own vodka and coke from her handbag supply and then having the cheek to got to the bar to ask for ice in it! Not the quality it used to be. RIP Finn

Visited on Monday evening. We live locally but don't often go down into the Gorge in Summer as it's too busy, but it was a beautiful warm and sunny Summer's evening (we only get about five days a year like this in Shropshire.) The tables on the grass terrace overlooking the river looked very inviting. There were
quite a few tourists about looking for somewhere to spend their money. Sadly, we walked in to the pub and walked straight out again, on being told there was no food available! Such clueless Management is an example of why so many fine old pubs are closing. They can't get their heads round the idea that
times have changed and supermarket beer is so very cheap. IMHO any pub which doesn't morph into something very similar to the Tavernas we all use on holiday abroad, will eventually die. They can still sell good beer, but they have to provide a lot more besides.

Still a great pub with friendly regulars, nice atmosphere and good beers. Two Holdens beers on when I last visited plus Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild, Caledonian Evolution and two Salopian Beers. Nice to sit out in the high lever garden when the weather is fine.

Smart locals pub away from the main Wharfage area. Low ceilings with exposed timbers, photos and maps of old Ironbridge along with the history of the pub on the walls. Its a Holdens pub and was serving the Bitter and Golden Glow. As is common with Holdens pubs it had a sign up claiming that the guest beer was Golden Glow which of course it isnt as its brewed by Holdens. I had a pint of the guest which was pretty good. Nice enough place which is probably packed in summer as it has a nice terrace.

Popped in for a quick beer whilst in the area. Nice, cosy pub, customers of all ages (usually a good sign IMHO) and excellent beers. The Holden's bitter and Golden Glow were top-notch and my wife tried the Salopian Golden Dream, which was also top-notch. However, this was very lively, and difficult to pull, but the barmaid's attitude was not good - sullen face and moans. If the owners sort her out they have a gem of a pub.

I have visited this pub a number of times in the past 4 years and have never had a bad beer. The new landlord is friendly and keeps a good pint.

The new landlord has managed to drum up some more local trade, but they all seem to be male smokers!
The pub needs a refurb. Food is very average. Smoke from the bar drifts into the non-smoking room.
