Closed briefly in early 2016; now some sort of gastro-affair, run by Urban.

Was in this Pub on Friday night and honestly it's by far the worst pub I've ever been in the whole UK: Very rude service. Staff uninterested. They've got some Real Ales in, but honestly, they were rotten. Overall a horrible experience! Wouldn't recommend it to anyone ever. Left and went to The Shawl. Much better. Beer good and staff friendly.

Now redecorated outside and the bar's had a bit of a spruce-up too.
Real Ales in rotation : Bombardier/London Pride/Spitfire/Hobgoblin, and the pub's got an award from Guinness for the excellence of their pint of the black stuff.
Much more mixed clientele than used to be the case including lotsa teachers on a Friday afternoon.

At long last! Real Ale! Good Real Ale at that! (If you like Charles Wells Bombardier, that is).
guvguvguv 's comment about younger professionals is true, but they are coming in earlier and more often than used to be the case. All good.

Very friendy pub run by a lovely Irish lady (50-ish, blond hair) and her friendly staff.

Cheap prices (£3.10 for a pint of Guinness in November 2012) and open until 1.30am at the weekends, which is a bonus if you fancy a late drink.

Mixture of predominately middle aged Irish and West Indian customers, though late Friday/Saturday night post midnight there is often a rush of younger, trendier English people who are clearly young professionals now living in the surrounding area looking for a late drink.

All round, very friendly and much better inside than it looks from outside.

Redecoration now underway (and not before time) and (gasp) Real Ale (although only in bottles!) in the shape of Charles Wells Bombardier.

.......and it wasn't that Walsh character.

Glorious wedding reception in the function room last night; the place looked fantastic;that Irish bloke off the X Factor was there too.

Currently visiting a pub for every station on the London Overground. Did this for Willesden Junction. Very much an Irish pub, apart from some West Indian guys in one corner playing dominos. Quite a nice building. Bit rough. No real ales. Probably not the worst pub in Harlesden.

Much improved since the untimely demise of the previous gaffer. Excellent Guinness, according to friends who partake of it. Redecoration planned and to be happening soon. Looking forward to that. This pub could be awesome; at present it is merely O.K.

Visitetd the pub recently, no atmosphere at all apart from the scratched cd jumping frequently, the only redeeming feature was the guiness was good at a good price.

Had a pint here last Sunday. Great fun. The heated bear garden is great. Live music, friendly staff. Danny (Gov) keeps good order. I will make this my new local.

In 1975 this Pub was a very smokey quiet Pub by day and a playground for drunken Irishmen by night. I remember being a doorman upstairs where Disco music was played and many an abusive customer rolled down those big wide stairs. I blamed the drink.
The carpet squelched as you walked on it come the end of the weekend. I must have passively smoked 40 a day.

The Finest Guiness in Harlesden! They now have an Irish band every sunday 5-8pm knocking out tradtional and rebel tunes. Smoking ban will improve this pub no end, as will the addition of some real ales.

Trad irish pub has improved over the years. Really great craic on st Patrick's Day - with polish and afro-caribbean locals entering into the spirit of the occasion and good live entertainment etc.

Guiness excellent.

A bit smokey and would love to see some guest beers.

As reported above an Irish pub NO REAL ALE, got the black stuff though which is probably excellent.

Beer awful, and I'm afraid the place looks and smells filthy. Wouldn't recommend.

poor beer, unfriendly staff and generally smelt quite a bit

I recommend staying clear of this place if you can

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY FRIENDLY PUB, WHERE i FOUND THE STAFF TO BE VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL!! I thoroughly enjoyed the weekends entertainment where I listened to Kingdom Country and The Craic of Dawn!! Enjoyed the night so much that although this pub is not my local and the journey takes about 30 mins each way, I am going to be a regular here and aslo joining them to watch there darts matches!! They have big screens and plasmas which makes watching both football and Gaa very pleasant and with the fabulous range of drinks available where better to go than The Royal Oak!!!! Jo

Saw Ireland beat Italy 1-0 in the 1994 World Cup here. Some of the older regulars were a bit confused , they didn't realise there was another type of football apart from the GAA. Sound as a Euro.

Had a great night in there on St Pats. Good live music by Whiskey Before Breakfast. Nice friendly people...however, shame that easternblock female staff are very unpleasant.
