It did used to be a great gay pub. It is now The Boiler Room, a night-time live music venue, which I've not been to but by all accounts from people I know is pretty good if you like the music they've got on.

Now closed due to reopen as an all ticket music venue called the Boiler House.

This pub is **NOW CLOSED** as of 13/05/06. It is due to re-open as a venue for live music, some kind of night-club, in September. New name will be something like 'The Boiler Room', apparently there will be a 5 entry charge, so I won't be going. It will be 'gay friendly' but no longer a specialist gay pub.

Generally making an effort to refurbish, however the quiz night (Wednesdays) is VERY disappointing, as prizes mentioned are sometimes not delivered, such as 'Third prize will be a round of drinks'. We all heard it (14th December 2005) but apparently it was only a joke... No-one laughed. Hence only a mark of 2 instead of 9.

I use the pub regularly, and find it lively and very friendly. A great local facility for me!

Went in here once and tapped a guy on the shoulder before asking him when the party was on. I was young and naive and didn't know it was a gay pub! Seems like a nice place but be careful if you're a straight bloke

the only problem is its in quite a bad area and there are a lot of straight pubs around so chances of getting beaten up are quite high. Maybe.

this is the only gay pub i know of in this area. Good prices, friendly bar staff, everyone is welcome, not too many lesbians in there though, thats the only down side.

Yes, I'd say gay rather than gay-friendly although it's not the kind of place where "hettys" are made to feel uncomfortable.

I spent part of my stag night here.
