Not a pub but a late night bar. Now closed for the forseeable due to fire/smoke damage.

No loss to the area.

What most of the people commenting here seem to have forgotten is that Sosho is predominantly a late night bar/club space, and if you think of it like that, it works quite well. Nice space, good DJs, and usually a lot of people making for a decent atmosphere.

Go along once you're already pissed and you're looking to make a proper night of it. I wouldn't go there straight after work for a cheeky pint as it's too noising and expensive for that.

If I never set foot in Sosho Match again, it will be too soon. Terrible aircon, way way too noisy (even for an after work drink), takes hours to get served, awful beers, staff rude, generally tedious. I think this is what you get when the clientele are more worried about pulling and what they look like than what they're drinking or communicating with each other - comment below about someone throwing up over herself sums it up really. Perhaps I'm just getting old, but my heart sinks whenever someone organises leaving/birthday/recruitment drinks here.

High prices, although not a bad place for a late drink if you're up for paying for it. The cocktails are good, but far cheaper in Context down the road.

If you like to try very hard and acheive little in the way of fun, roll up and have a few overpriced cocktails.

Theres something in the water here in turn me or my friends get horrendously drunk at Sosho. Yes, their cocktails are punchy (love the Match Spring Punch) but even if we stick to wine it still appears to happen. Maybe we just love the atmosphere, the lack of suits and funky djs and hang around too long! I havent had a bad time here ever so try it out but try to avoid the hangover if you can

Cocktails are something special. Barstaff are not!
Have had some truly special nights in here. The long island iced tea is very fast acting. Only bar I've ever seen a woman puke down her front and 5 guys surrounding her STILL trying to pull her. Top marks.
Have done this place on a school night many times and wouldn't recommend it, you'll end up sleeping in the bogs at work for hours.

i prefer to think of it as an "arsey dump" rather than a "dump full of arses",........irrelevant beers priced as if they were laced with cocaine....and took ages to get em too......

i wasnt too impressed with this club/bar.
he service was terrible, especialy the fact that they serve drinks at a 50ml minimum, and as a barman myself could clearly see him ripping me off by pouring less that a 25ml measure!! definatly not going again!!

Style exists even if you cant hear yourself think, although there wont be much of that once youve sampled your second or third delicious cocktail. Theres plenty of seating and it feels quite special but perhaps its better to think of Sosho as a club and bar rather than a bar and club. It recently won a Time Out Bar of the Year 2001 award and even if it is a little tucked away its become a firm favourite with the Hox-ditch crew and is a brave choice on a school night if you're easily led!
