Pleasant modern pub, also with a hotel attached and separate function rooms off the main pub area. Decent sized bar area with separate dining area. On my afternoon visit there were a fair few people in though due to the size of the place and spread of people in different areas it seemed fairly quiet, though not too quiet to be comfortable. There were three hand pumps, one was off, the other two had Workie Ticket 4.5% and Northumbrian Blonde 4.0%. Opted for the Workie Ticket at £3.30 for the pint. Pleasant pint in pleasant surroundings. The only thing I would say is that once you are inside the pub it is not that easy to catch glimpse of the Angel of the North - but it can be viewed quite easily from the car park.

I chose the Angel View Inn for my all day wedding reception. None of my guests had any problems finding it and every single member of staff was very helpful. There is a large free car park which overlooks The Angel of the North.
The Inn is split into sections - bar, carvery, 2 function rooms, hotel rooms, breakfast room and courtyard area. The flow between each area was very natural and each room was clean and well kept. We were in the big room (20) which is huge and very comfy.
It is located right next to the A1 not far from Newcastle City Centre, yet you feel like you're in the country. The food was delicious with lots of choice.
In regards to the reception itself, The Angel View Inn is amazing value for money and the wedding co-ordinator Maureen helped my wedding day run so smoothly. She is such a lovely, patient and thorough lady.
The courtyard area is georgeous and the decor in the pub area is extremely high quality. Our wedding party dominated the courtyard area as it is right outside the main function room, so some guests looked a little annoyed when the volume peaked. So the only thing I would say is if you're going for a romantic meal and are easily irritated, probably best to check there's not a function on that night!
I have been going to The Angel View Inn for many years and would recommend it to anyone.

Called in for a pint and a bite to eat, beer was ok, food was ok although nothing special and there was a long wait.

Went here on a Friday lunch for a meal and must say was very impressed. Food well cooked, a veg lasagne looked home made and all portions huge at very reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and it is in a lovley spot. Would have liked more than one hand pulled ale but a minor gripe. Nice decor, a good place all round and I visit a lot of pubs and can be picky.

Stayed here on several occasions. Good food and service, lovely rooms, and good location for The Metro and Newcastle.
