Smells of poo and wee and stale farts. So on the whole, i liked it.

We've just moved onto Aldersgate Street and have crowned this our new regular. It's alright and the staff for the most part are friendly and helpful and it's not their fault that some of the clientele are siding on the verge or are already gimpish nomarks. They do their best with the real ale and the reserved areas for parties is a winner. Overpriced but what do you expect for that part of town and extolling the only worthwhile virtues out of the suits & city slickers.

Overpriced and soulless.

Might appeal to some but little to recommend it in my book.

The great thing about this place is that is has all the advantages of a modern bar (good selection of drinks, open spaces, food, clean and tidy facilities, music) without all the disddvantages (can't hear yourself think, gassy lager or bird booze, heaving with chavs). The Hogshead in Aldersgate Street has an easy-going atmosphere, a good selection of ales and beers, good music that's not too loud, friendly staff, free food for parties >20, and areas that can be cordoned off. A group of us went here for a party in July and we got the balcony to ourselves, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming.

Great pub, with a good atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful team members. Hold regular events from quizes to theme nights. Generally a good night or even day out.
