Pub now closed for several years, frontage being kept but rest being redeveloped into luxury flats and small Waitrose.

Looks like nice enough outside, looks nice enough inside. Unfortunately that's where the effort has begun and ended.
Poor service, overpriced drinks and a distinct lack of any atmosphere means one shall never be returning.

Had a really dissappointing meal here. Very poor service. Food not the same quality as a year or so ago. Also, dishes not served as described on the menu.

Came here to eat upstairs with the wife on a Friday night. This has never been the best of pubs for a drink, previous comments were fair a couple of years ago, but it's gone downhill. Loud and quite chavvy, a fun atmosphere in a way I guess. They never used to put much effort in the beers and have completely given up the ghost as the handpumps are still on display but there's nothing in them. So lager it is.
The food is nice enough. Fairly priced, reasonably tasty but it's fairly standard fare and nothing special.

As you can see from the picture above this is a big imposing pub, but what you cannot see is the lovely landscaped garden out the back that I�d imagine being packed in the summer months. I think that the garden is probably the best feature, although they could probably invest in some new tables as I had to try a couple before I found one that was sturdy enough for my bulky frame and even that had a rusty nail sticking out of one of the seats. The member of staff that I informed seemed more relieved that I wasn�t making a complaint, but hopefully he went out and hammered the nail back in.
The inside of the pub is very big, but it feels more like a restaurant and they certainly seemed to be more interested in flogging the Thai food than serving beer. The food must be good for this place to have an a la carte restaurant area upstairs as it seemed that every shop on the parade outside was either a restaurant or a take-away making the competition fierce.
Bombardier and Deuchars were available alongside San Miguel and a range of standard draught. I opted for the Bombardier which was pleasant enough.
I didn't try the food so I cannot comment, but if I was just up for a drink I would walk past on a cloudy day.

I spent many a happy hour here back in the early 'seventies but it slowly slid downhill. Good, sympathetic refurb and an excellent restaurant will hopefully revive its fortunes.

Excellent before and after the refurbishment. The restaurant upstairs is quality.

Have you seen this bar lately its amazing they have had the whole place refurbished,and it is out of this world the service is incredable.We went there last friday and the meal was great and the entertainment the had was superb. highly recommend going there.

Pretty awful pub these days.
I have no doubt that the food is good, and if you want a Thai meal and a bottle of wine it may be okay, but if you want good beer while watching the footy, forget it. The only cask ale is Greene King IPA, and it is kept so badly...cold and nasty...that I always end up on lager when here! The back bar is a bit crap and too smokey, and the clientele are a bit too chavvy (though one guy did give up his seat for my mum during Man Utd v Arsenal at the beginning of the season, which was nice).
The decor in the main bar is the best asset!

A massive, classic North London boozer that appears to be going through a major identity crisis. If you break down each of the Green Dragon's many facets; location, food, atmosphere, garden etc it's not a bad prospect. Throw them all together and you have a mix that goes way past eclectic and is heading for uncomfortably weird. The restaurant above the pub serves good Thai Fayre.

JTs, fab pub, great to go any time of the day, nice and quiet during day to relax and just chill out on their comfy sofas. at night time, very cool, fun atmosphere. the decor is brill, very different to all of the pubs in the area (who are clones of one another) the beer garden especially (the biggest in the area) is fantastic. the bar menu is very tasteful, especially the starters and the sandwiches (not the normal sandwich you expect)are lovely. the barstaff are fun and their cocktails are also very yummy.

I mostly agree with Amanda but it did look like a pub that wasn't sure what it wanted to be what with mixture of the ethnic sculptures and Thai menu -was probably once an old English pub (orginal beams etc)so it felt like there was some kind of identity conflict going on. Menu wasn't great for veggies and the night we visited, the clientele were quite loud and rowdy. A pub with great potential but somehow got lost along the way.....

totally fab Thai menu and fantastic decor - full of unusual Eastern sculptures. Bar food is especially good, although the restaurant is also very nice. A great oriental garden.
