Fine and in most towns would be deemed great but not in the teeth of the very stiff competition locally. Unfortunately, my half of Beerdo was undrinkable which is a blot on the pub's reputation although I'm sure I was just unlucky as service was affable and attentive. My partner's Whitstable Bay was much better and the place was gearing up for a live music night.

Visited on a Saturday night as part of a crawl around both Lincoln centre and castle areas. This is situated in a good place on the return into the centre after a visit to the Strugglers and Victoria at the top of the hill.
Nice looking pub which had both a decent friendly atmosphere as well as a good live band, however whilst they offered four perfectly decent real ales from the central bar area, these were only mainstream beers including Fullers London Pride and could have included some of the smaller breweries in and around the Lincoln area these days.
Decent place, but could improve if it wishes to compete with the two other pubs already mentioned.

Friendly pub at the bottom of Steep Hill with a central bar and seating arranged in a circle around the bar. In fact, we managed to walk almost the full circle before finding a table of choice! 3 ales were on - Greene King IPA & Old Speckled Hen & Caledonian Flying Scotsman. Westons Old Rosie was the cider.

Located just off the square at the bottom of Steep Hill in Lincoln. Nice range of ales. Good mixture of customers. Friendly. Beer 'garden' with heaters out the back. Friday nights usually live band free entry around 9pm. Sunday nights musicians jamming session from about 6.30 pm and at 9pm sharp the free general knowledge Quiz begins with 5 drinks tokens for the winners and 3 for second. A bit expensive but popular with locals. Quiz master changes each week so standards of quiz can vary but are generally good.

A rather shabby backstreet pub, but not without a quirky charm. Beer range was limited to Greene King and Everards, which is very hard to get excited about.

Very friendly pub, popular with students and real ale drinkers. Beers always well kept and the bar staff know their stuff.

Good pub in town, but slightly off the beaten track. Good beer. Tried the Woodforde's Wherry and Sharp's Doombar, both well kept. This is always on our list when doing a real ale town crawl and long shall it remain. Worth a look for sure. Friendly staff and locals.

This is a long standing outlet for good beer in Lincoln. Just off the main street so it doesnt get the circuit drinkers that many of the nearby places do. The bar is almost circular when you enter and serves two adjoining rooms that obviously once used to be separated by a door. The room to the left as you enter has more of a tap room feel with shabby and patched leather seating and a dart board. This is also where the regular live music is played. The room to the right is a bit more upmarket with the leather seating being in a much better condition. Theres lots of interesting pictures around the walls several of Blues musicians. The background music is always interesting with both the Fleet Foxes and the Foo Fighters (the only connection I can see is Seattle) being played whilst we were in. Eight handpumps selling Sharps Doom Bar plus seven guests. I had a Rudgate Jorvik Blonde and a Marston Moor Mongrel, both were excellent. Its a good pub.

Still an amiable and helpful landlord, nice beer and still a bit expensive - cheapest was Everards Beacon at 2.85/pt.

We visit this plce regulary & the beer is fantastic, the landlord & staff very amiable & helpful. The only problem is the prices, to quote an advert REASURINGLY EXPENSIVE.Only one real ale under 2-50.There seems to be plenty of things going on, also there is an old roving magician who is definately worth waiting for.

Seemed fine to me ten days or so ago. Cosy on a stinking winter's day; beer in fair nick and people saying good things about the food.
