Ok for cheapish drink but almost every meal i have ordered here is cold, wrong, or just plain rubbish.
I agree with all the points about the awful blue decor.
Drinking only from now on for me.

5/10

Terraced on one side, with an alley on the other, this white Georgian styled house with dormer windows has a beer patio at the front.

The interior is open plan, with blue and white walls and panel. There are, as in many Spoons, lots of old local photos on the walls to give some interest. There are also skylights in the ceiling. Service is the usual Spoons, too few dealing with too many, even though there wasnt that many in.

Beer; usual tap tosh, with Pedigree, Abbots, Ruddles Country and Best, Exmoor Stag and Blackawton Head Strong on handpull. The Blackawton was ok.

Didnt know it was a Spoons until i walked in, but you could guess. It was so-so, I have seen worse certainly.

Looks on the small side for JDW but has a number of rooms joined together + outdoor seating at the front. Near to station.

Pretty good spoons venue. Ales were in good condition and cheaper than anywhere else around. Toilets very clean, with today's Telegraph on the wall to read. Some intresting art on the walls as well.

Not quite sure what Weatherspoons were after with the pub.
Whoever chose the purple and dark green colours was either having a laugh or seriously coloured blind.

Everything about the place is just not quite right. The seating is bizarre. Small booths that take a contortionist to get in tables with wonky legs scattered around small rooms and the best seats at the back in the dingy lit dining area, or tables by the bar so close to the standing area that you get about ten pints spilled over you every hour. The bogs are an hours trek from the bar. But I often meet old friends on the way!!!. The beer is variable and sometimes they run out of the good stuff. Curry night is excellent value, but again they can run out by half past nine.

Staff seem friendly and it is almost impossible to push in. Good on them for treating everyone fairly.

However needs a serious looking at to make some changes, before it becomes a good pub

A fairly typical Wetherspoons. The tables where we sat near the entrance were messy, covered in paper which looked like it had been left out in the rain - turned out to be the menus and paper place mats advertising the Sunday roast. Never did find the toilets and ended up using the ones in the bus station (just by the railway station) over the road instead.

The beer was fine, cheap as you would expect and the staff were friendly. With just one train an hour on Sundays, it's a good place to sit and wait with a beer if you've got some time to kill while waiting for the next train home.

Typical spoons in the terms of cheap food and drink.

Pub go's back quite a way, and has a nice patio out the front 4 those summer evenings.

Bit of a uphill trek 2 the loo though.

My Rating 7/10

What crap decor - purple walls and tables set out like a school classroom but with pensioners sitting open-mouthed at them, It looks really nice outside (which is probably the best place to be).

Another 'what you see is what you get' Wetherspoons!
Very little atmosphere but if you like to do your suppin' in an airport departure lounge then this is the place for you.

Good choice of Real Ale but it is usually sold at lager temperatures (too cold) and is occassionally cloudy. Staff are friendly and try their best under difficult circumstances.

Well price food and drink. Cracking, good value curries on a Thursday evening from 6pm. Still one of the best pubs in Exmouth. Cheapest in Town.

Very busy Wetherspoons pub where you may expect to wait in line while the staff serve coffee and coke to the pensioners and children before attending to the real drinkers. Why can't these people go to the coffee shop down the road?????
