The Lardicake is situated in a residential area outside of the town centre. My hopes were raised by a sign on the exterior advertising real ales and craft beers. Alas, the choice was Doom Bar or Landlord. The pub has 2 small rooms. The rear room was being used for a live singer. The England football game was being shown on TVs. This place had a fairly rough and ready feel to it. It had no character at all. Disappointing.

Unusual pub this one and therefore worth a visit. But still something about the place I couldn't put my finger on! The beer was in good condition, I tried the Banks' Milld. But still........something not quite right.

I'm a regular at this pub, which opens at 11am and seems to be open all day. The landlord/lady and their staff are very friendly and welcoming, serve a good pint of real ale plus Addlestones cloudy cider. There are teams for weekly quiz (Bourne Valley Quiz League), darts and crib. Food is not served. Well worth a visit if you're in Andover town centre.

Any pub that has a cider on pump deserves my praise. It's unusual in this area. Nice pub, great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Traditional old fashioned pub with not only three real ales (nice pint of Landlord) but also a cider on the pump. The riffraff who drink in the town centre seem to stay away from this place - which is also reasonably handy for the station. No food spotted, but a good place to drink.
