Towards the lower end of the Wetherspoons scale. Just tries too hard to be Hipster /Craf which just doesn't suit the chain, especially somewhere like Woolwich. Pricing is okay for ales, lagers e.t.c. Often extremely busy even at times when you wouldn exdpect it to be a little quieter

Although there are now some really good places to eat and drink in Woolwich I still love it here for its great range of craft beers ales bottled beer and spirits, it is what it is but I still like a Sunday lunch time with the boys, and the foods always been decent whenever I've eaten there, sometimes pop in with Mrs after a night out, but usually only go in there with the chaps

Lively mixture of locals, great beer at best prices, went in Tuesday night after trying the new Antic pub across the square and it was buzzing, the new range of craft beers are tops, the new pub across the square is very nice and a good choice of beers but at £5.10 for a lovely pint of Brooklyn beer is even dearer than the Dial Arch so it's a no brainier

Great Wetherspoon value with a decent range of budget-priced food. Family friendly lunchtime and afternoons, but evenings vary from quiet to too noisy for this 60-something. A very mixed customer base – office workers and commuters plus locals attracted by the Wetherspoon's cheap prices.

Like many pubs, the standard of service varies. Many of the staff are excellent, delivering efficient service with a smile, but some of the newer recruits need to work harder to improve customer service skills, product knowledge and technical skills.

New management team has greatly improved the atmosphere, generally being quick to refuse and remove troublemakers, although some of the shift leaders / duty managers are not always quick enough to react.

Sadly some of the older locals could be described as "grumpy old men" who do not realise that the 21st century pub is very different from the "spit and sawdust" locals of their youth – different customers with different expectations and behaviours.

But one of only two pubs in Woolwich that we would choose for an evening of drinks and a bite to eat.
