user reviews of Clairville, Wallasey

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This Wetherspoons isn't too bad so far as layout and drinks are concerned. The problems are caused by the people who use it! Better during the day when a mixture of shoppers, alcoholics and teen mums drink and eat in here but at night it is a lot more edgy. Best avoided unless you are with a group.

Rather large Wetherspoons in the Liscard area of Wallasey. The colours inside are a bit bright - lots of red. The ale range was not too bad - Ruddles Best, Wychwood Piledriver, Greene King Abbot, Fullers London Pride, Sharps Doom Bar, Phoenix March Hare & Thwaites Wainwright. No real ciders were on sale. Better than expected. But still below average for a 'spoons.

Another turkey from J D Wetherspoon plc (posh licensed caffs). Just the place if you don't mind what you're drinking (and how long you wait to get served with it) or you want to take your noisy, feral kids out for some cheap food. If this is a 'pub', it's a use of the word I've not encountered before.

Former Netto/Safeway supermarket as previously noted. Garish orange & brown 70's exterior is far from inviting. Inside its fairly open plan. Almost symmetrical design with raised areas to the right & left & a long bar at the rear. Red decor leaves it feeling a bit dark inside. Overall fairly non descript.

The former Safeways Supermarket, converted into a Wetherspoons.
Inline with the usual Wetherspoons offerings, but with its glass frontage, it has the feel of a car showroom.
