Currently closed as it is being turned into one of Urban & Country Leisure's Lazy Cows as found in Warwick. Expected to re-open next month and no doubt will be a restaurant like its namesake. The live music venue upstairs will be missed.

If you want a quiet drink this is not the place for you. Went in and within five minutes a band was practising upstairs and a conversation was impossible to conduct. Pricey as well. Won't be back in a hurry!

Large purpose built pub with a huge riverside patio. Theres a venue upstairs with some top rock names from the 70s appearing. Steve Gibbons Band, Budgie and Dr Feelgood to name but 3 appearing soon. Mind you I wouldnt have paid 17 to see Steve Gibbons in his heyday never mind now. They only have one handpump which was serving Bombardier when we were there and it was 3 a pint which is very pricey even for a tourist trap like Stratford, it was kept OK though. It was late October and it was still warm enough to sit outside on the patio. We shared a mixed platter involving samosas, chicken bites, spring rolls, wedges etc which wasnt bad at all. The main bar area has a pool table and several fruit/quiz machines, flag floors and some comfy sofas. Its not great but its much better than the pathetic staff at the Pen & Parchment would have you believe.
