Was in here last Friday with my son to watch the Moldova v England game. Atmosphere was good and given that it was a Friday evening it wasn't crowded. Drank Courage Best as, surprisingly, there were no guest ales on. Last guest ale in there was Doombar so I am hoping it will be back soon.

One of the rare pubs that seems to be ok for ale. Youngs is spot on. Guest is hit and miss. Pool table and sport on. Best pub on high street until you get into Woolwich.

Suprisingly decent pub considering it's location right on the High Street, recently started serving guest ales which are decently kept.
The bar area is very crowded and gets overloaded, particulary when showing a football match as this is the only pub nearby showing games.
Much quieter at other times and the Landlords work hard to keep it respectable. Decent local boozer

Visited last sunday to watch the football (spurs) their was probably five people in there at max, the old photos on the wall of west ham would indicate to me that the landlord was a fan of the east end club.

Landlord actually sat and chatted with the patrons, of which as we all know is a rareity these days.

But overall, a nice small friendly pub, run of the mill beers, a bit pricey but worth the visit.

PS: Although it was my first time in the pub, i was acknowledged by the customers and the landlord, another rareity.

This and the Plume of Feathers are the only two good Pubs in the High St. Friendly locals, Big TV, gets rammed out for the Football. All female friendly Bar Staff.
