Off the beaten track but the GBG convinced me to come and visit.

The pub is wonderful - freehouse, central island bar, wood burning fire, blood red chesterfields.

Very friendly bar staff.

Beer was a little disappointing. A tired TT Landlord - which when kept well is my favourite ale.

Still - I'd recommend the pub.

I have visited three times recently, once on a warm Saturday afternoon and twice on Saturday evenings. Each time there were no more than half a dozen people in here,in fact on one occasion only two people were present. It seems people simply stop here for a pint now owing to the prices of beer. What was once a lively locals pub has been ruined by charging £5.70 for a pint of lager. Not one other pub in the area or even the West End chargeds this amount.Looks like we'll be seeing the end of this place soon unfortunately. There is no way you can justify charging even the wealthy residents of Richmond that much for a pint.

I often visit this pub on my way home at least once a week. From a beer perspective it has always been well-kept and there is something for everyone depending on your tastes. The beer is an ever-changing selection on cask, with the one exception being TT Landlord which has become the 'house' bitter. Real cider also available on hand-pump and a good range of cans. Lager drinkers have the choice of Camden Hells and Birra Morett - don't come expecting Fosters, Kronenbourg, Stella etc.

The pub is run by Chris who makes you very welcome, as does Rudi, the pub's cocker spaniel. Chris's ethos is that the pub is an extension of his home and to treat everyone as a guest. For me this is the best pub in Richmond and well deserves its recent inclusion in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. A 'hidden gem' well worth a visit.

The dopey landlord/manager is on some sort of Basil Fawlty power trip, new rules every week and downright rudeness to the customers. It all seems a bit much for the little turd.If I was charging £4 a pint for very weak beer I think civility would be the order of the day,not here!

A few tired beers today,a back water pub which carries too many beers on handpump.
