| I MUST AGREE WITH THE LAST COMMENT MADE . BUT I DO WISH I COULD PUT MY FINGER ON WHATS MISSING FROM THIS PUB .LOOKS GOOD FROM THE OUTSIDE BUT THEN ??? DOES HAVE A NICE GARDEN AREA .NEVER SEEMS TO BE BUSY PERHAPS THATS IT BUT THEN AGAIN.NOT THE WORST PUB IN GREENWICH.. THE WORST ONES HAVE GONE THE LORD NAPIER THE OLD FRIENDS AND THE BRITISH SAILOR R.I.P gpca - 16 May 2013 22:06 |
| Quite boring pub. Decor is that low-risk modern 'hotel lobby' style. I suppose it would be good for tourists but regular pub goers may wish to try elsewhere. They do have a couple of Greene King ales on tap but this doesn't feel like a proper pub anymore, maybe it once did. No soul. Richard_ReadingFC - 14 Jan 2013 13:52 |
| I'm not usually a visitor to Greene King pubs but my mates were hungry and I have eaten there in the past. Had Old Golden Hen [not met this one before] which was good. Everyone, including me, enjoyed the food which was reasonably quickly delivered and the staff very friendly. A bit too much of the 'is everything OK?' for my liking but would definitely return. | I have to disagree with the previous (1st time post ... ahem) post from vodkalover. I used to drink here quite often, as it was one of the few pubs in Greenwich to have a beer garden and place is notorious for slow slow service. Attracts a lot of tourists whcih accounts for it usually being 3 deep at the bar with 2 people serving. One of the poorest pubs in Greenwich. Pat_Bateman - 6 Nov 2012 10:33 |
| Got to say one of the best pubs I have visited in Greenwich. So pleased with the customer service, staff seem so happy and are helpful when it comes to the product knowledge and helping you choose. A little over priced, but if you want a decent pub I suppose you need to pay a decent price. 4 Ales on tap! Old Golden Hen which I had not seen before, staff were happy to give me a taster though :) Had such a winter feel to it with its open fires and lamps could have honestly sat there all night. Did not eat but food looked good, fish and chips came on a large wooden board which I thought was quirky. The menu verged on Gastro but still had all your traditional pub favourites. Going to go back for the Saturday night Jazz, lived in Greenwich all my life and this has to be the first pub I have visited that makes me want to come back... even with its large tourist following I still feel like a regular and as Cheers would say ' Where everybody knows your name' V0dkal0ver - 5 Nov 2012 22:39 |
