More well known for its food (which *is* excellent) than anything else, and nothing particularly special inside or out. A rather more down to earth place than the average rural foodie pub, so I do retain a soft spot for it.

Another foodie pub in the lovely rural village of Kings Moss. I think I was the only person there just for a drink and there were no tables available. So I didn't hang around for long. But they do have 3 ales which were Black Sheep Best Bitter, Greene King London Glory & West Berkshire Good Old Boy. Food smelt nice. Nice pub. But more of a restaurant than a drinkers' place.

Took my wife and grandson for a meal at this pub, It is an ordinary looking pub but we were surprised when we tasted the food it was excellent, just to make sure we paid the pub another visit and nothing had changed the food was excellent.
The staff were great very friendly helpful,I hope this pub keeps up the tradition of home cooked meals and good beers, we are planning another visit soon with some of the family so i hope the consistency continues.

First time visit this afternoon and certainly wasnt disappointed. Fantastic pub which is in the small village of Kings Moss, on the Lancashire/Merseyside border. Accessible about a mile or so from the Rainford Bypass. Small cosy pub with open fires, a good range of beers on tap and the food was the best sampled for a long while. The landlady was very friendly as were the rest of the staff. My only small gripe (and it is only a very small one) is the size restraints as in some instances you feel too close to the persons sat at an adjoining table, but please dont let that put you off. This is a cracking pub.

A proper pub with a main bar serving two rooms with other rooms away from the bar. Used to cycle all the way up here manay moos ago with my brother before his sad demise so place holds a few memories. Four ales on of which the Ossian Supremely Golden webt down well.
