A pub with great potential, but it has a habit of making newcomers feel unwelcome.Has become a chav's paradise;that would explain all the half-drunken lagers.Female barstaff seem to think that they should be in Girl's Aloud.Maybe a nice nature would be better appreciated.Still worth a visit;suggest the lounge bar.

I was flabergasted to be refused a half pint of coca-cola by the land-lady when I strolled in on a Sunday afternoon. She refused to give me a reason. I have never caused any trouble at the Vic in my life or any other pub in the last 10 years or so, have had no quarrel with any of their staff or patrons, was completely sober, I was not infringing any dress-code (if there is one) and am clearly over 18 (I'm 27). Naturally I was left fuming, but refused to stoop to her aggressive, paranoid level and left quietly. I will never drink there again and I will encourage my friends and whoever is reading this to do likewise.
